Ministry Of Health To Take Disciplinary Action Against Government Hospital Directors Who Are Transferring Blood Tests To Private Hospitals From 01st Of January 2017

Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has instructed the Health
Ministry secretary Anura Jayawikrame to issue a circular in the first of week of December to all government hospitals  with laboratory facilities to inform, hospital directors  who are not implementing the banning  of transferring  blood tests of patients  to private hospitals  from 01st of January 2017 will be faced with disciplinary action .

All the government hospitals in the country will be equipped with laboratory facilities by the 31st of December 2016 to fullfill the requirement of banning the transferring of blood tests to private hospitals according to the Ministry Of Health.

Health Ministry has earlier announced that all government hospitals should stop transferring blood tests of patients  for private  hospital labs with effect from 01st of January 2017.

Police have arrested a person who is responsible for
several assasinations occurred in Southern Province with a hand bomb made in a foreign country in his possession  at kalupe in Meetiyagoda(Southern Province) area.

The suspect has been charged over several killings occurred in Baddegama- Gonapinuwala ,Meetiyagoda and Hikkaduwa areas in southern province.




JVP Leader Urged The Need To Pardon Suspects In Remand For Over Seven Years

The leader of the Opposition Janatha Vimukthi
Peramuna (JVP) Anura Kumara Dassanayake has yesterday (26)urged at the Parliament the need to pardon some suspects who are in remand for over seven years .

Whether these suspects are guilty or not guilty for a crime some of them may be in jail for a crime which deserves seven year or less imprisonment  MP has stressed.

MP Dissanayake has stated that it is unreasonable for a suspect to be in remand custody  for over seven years.

Leader of the House Minister Lakshman Kiriella has stated that president has already appointed a committee to look into the matter.

MP Dissanayake urged that the committee should look into all the suspects who are in remand for more than seven years not only the LTTE suspects.

President Maithripala Sirisena Has Appointed A Special Nine Member Committee Regarding Alleviating Poverty From Sri Lanka

President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed a special nine member committee to implement and supervise the programmes and approaches on alleviating
poverty from Sri Lanka .

Government has declared 2017 as the year of alleviating poverty from Sri Lanka.

Dr.Sarath Amunugama has been appointed as the chairman of the committee and other members of the committee are Ministers Sajith Premadasa,Ravi Karunanayake,Kabir Hashim,Governor Of Northern Province Reginald Cooray,Governor of Southern Province Hemakumara Nanayakkara,MP Venarable Athuraliye Rathana Thero,President's Secretary P.B Abeykoon and Prime Minister's Secretary Saman Ekanayake.

President Sirisena has conducted a meeting last friday (25) to discuss on preparing a main plan to alleviate poverty from the country and obtaining proposals and ideas for this from all sectors.

At the meeting several representatives including Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasimghe,MP's ,Governors Chief Ministers and Central Bank Governor had presented detailed proposals and plans on the issue.

A Female Was killed And Five Others Injured And Hospitalized Due To An Accident In Ahungalle

A female was killed and five persons were injured and hospitalized due to a Three Wheeler-Private Bus
collision occured at Ahungalla (Southern Province)today (26).

Accordingly a female who was travelling in Three Wheeler was killed and four others in the same Three Wheeler and a Motor Cyclist passed by were injured and hospitalized due to the accident.

The passengers in the Three Wheeler were on their way home after attending a Wedding it has been revealed.

Thirteen Local And Foreign Tourists Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack

Around Thirteen Local and foreign tourists were
injured and hospitalized today (26)due to a wasp attack occurred at Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya (Temple) at Dambulla (Central Province).

The injured were admitted to the Dambulla Base Hospital for treatment and eight of the injured are reported as foreigners.

Two Students Died And One Was Rescued After Being Carried Away By Sea Waves At Eravur

Two students died and one student was rescued after
being carried away by the sea waves in the seas off punnakuda in Eravur area(Eastern Province) while bathing today (26) it has been reported.

The bodies of deceased students who disappeared due to the sea waves have been recovered hours later by the Navy and Police Officers.

The rescued student was admitted to the Batticaloa Hospital for treatment.

Eravur Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
