Local Government Election Date To Be Announced .On Tuesday (07)

Opposition Urges Parliament to Probe Election Commission's Funding Plea

The Election Commission in Sri Lanka which met today (03) to decide a fresh date to hold the local government election had decided to hold a special meeting next Tuesday (07) to announce the election date .

The new Election date for the local government election is scheduled to be announced next Tuesday after holding discussions with the Finance Ministry secretary on getting funds to hold the election the Elections Commission has announced.Earlier the Elections Commission has announced that a fresh date for the forthcoming local government election will be decided in today"s meeting .(03)

Central Bank Had Increased Interest Rates

The Monitory Board of the Central Bank has decided to increase the Interest rates of Fixed deposits and Loan scheme facilities with effect from today (03). Why Interest Rates Matter - Erik Weir

Accordingly the Interest rate of Fixed deposits will be increased to 15.50 percent and the Interest rate of Loan scheme facilities will be increased to 16.50 percent the Central Bank has announced .

A 24 Hour Long Water Cut To Be Implemented In Several Ares Of Colombo

One of the fraudulent bodies in the country ,The National Water Supplies and Drainage Board has announced a 24 hour long massive water cut in several areas in Colombo district from 2 p.m tomorrow(04) until 2 p.m on Sunday (05) due to the renovation work of the water supplying system supplying water to the Maligakande reservoir .

Accordingly water supply to Colombo-01-04 ,Colombo -07 to Colombo-11 as well as in several other areas in Colombo District will be stopped for 24 hours the Water Board has announced.
