UNP Officially Informed The President On The Party's Inability To Work With 16 SLFP Members
Governing United National Party (UNP) had today
(08)officially informed the President Maithripala Sirisena that the Party cannot work with the 16 Ministers ,Deputy Ministers and State Ministers attached to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party who had voted in favor of the no confidence motion against the Prime Minister last week.
UNP has expected the President to take action against them it has been revealed.

Two Persons Have Been Injured Due To A Cab-Train Collision
Two persons have been injured and hospitalized due
to a Cab they were travelling in colliding in with a Train at a railway crossing near the Jaffna Teaching Hospital at Kodikamam in Jaffna this morning (08).
The injured were admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred as the Cab driver driven the vehicle across the Rail crossing without considering signal lights according to Police.

UNP Chairman Malik Samarawikrama Has Resigned From His Post
The Chairman of the governing United
National Party(UNP) Malik Samarawikrama had submitted his resignàtation letter from his post to the Party Leader Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe today(08)to pave the way to elect a new party chairman.
UNP General Secretary Kabir Hasheem has also resigned from his post last week.
UNP had appointed a 14 member Committee to elect a new leader ,Two deputy leaders ,General.Secretary and a Chairman to the party under party reforms.The new office bearers of the UNP due to be elected before 30 th of April this year.
Meanwhile Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has today stated that a cabinet reshuffle is due to be made during this week.

Two Persons Were Arrested With A Large Stock Of Cardamom And Cigarette Sticks At Katunayake Airport
A Sri Lankan male and a female were
arrested by the Airport Customs today(08) with a large stock of Cardamom and Cigarette Sticks illegally brought to Sri Lanka from Dubai at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .
Airport customs officers had taken in to custody around 30 Kilo Grammes of Cardamom and a stock of illegal Cigarette sticks in the possession of suspects worth more than Rs.600 million it has been revealed.
The two suspects are residents of Kurunagala and Ja-Ela areas.
Customs had confiscated the stock of cardamom and Cigarette Sticks taken in to custody and released the two suspects on bail.
