Administration Of Jayawardenapura Teaching Hospital Has Fallen Down Due To A Part Time Chairman
Due to appointing a part time Chairman for the Jayawardanapura Hospital who is also functioning as a top official of a multinational local Milk Powder Company the unsettled internal conflicts of the Jayawardenapura Hospital are on the increase the sources said.
The Current Chairman who is attending Hospital Administration Work for only half day per week has been however enjoying perks and privileges entitled for a full time Chairman of the Hospital except the salary it has been revealed.
The Joint Trade Unions of Jayawardenapura Hospital has urged the Ministry Of Health to appoint a full time Chairman in view of developing the Hospital.
Galle Magistrate Has Issued A Court Order Preventing Galle Allied Health Students From Holding Protests Near Karapitiya Medical Faculty
The Court Order has been issued by Galle Magistrate Nilupuli Lankathilake in view of preventing the demonstration organized by a group of Allied Health Students today(24) near the Karapitiya Medical Faculty.
The Poddala(In Southern Province)Police has made a request from Magistrate to issue the court order to maintain law and order near the Karapitiya Medical Faculty.
Matara Magistrate Fined Rs.60,000 From Two Sri Lankan Businessman Who Killed A Dolphin Fish
The Matara Magistrate Court has yesterday(23) fined Rs.60,000 from two persons who had arrested and produced before the court on charge of killing a Dolphin Fish and kept the Fish in their possession and released them on bail.
The two suspected businessman aged 30 and 40 years from Mirissa(In Southern Province) Area have been arrested by Mirissa Coastal Guards regarding the killing of a Dolphin Fish .
After being produced before the Matara Magistrate Court ,the two suspects were fined Rs.30,000 each by Matara Magistrate Uresha De Silva according to sources.

Suriyawewa ,Mahinda Rajapakshe International Cricket Stadium To Host Wedding Receptions-Sports Minister
Answering a question made regarding the Mahinda Rajapakshe International Cricket Stadium at Suriyawewa by Ratnapura District UNP MP Maithri Hesha Withanage at Parliament yesterday(23) the Sports Minister Jayasekera has said as the Cricket Stadium which built at a cost of Rs.4283 Million by the previous government not generating any income through Cricket Matches it's nothing wrong to use the Stadium for a purpose of generating income.
The authorities have decided to give the space of Cricket Stadium for wedding receptions at a sum of Rs.5000-10,000 per reception according to sources.
The Mahinda Rajapakshe Cricket Stadium has so far hosted only 11, 50 Over International Matches and 09 T-20 Matches.
President Of Asian Development Bank Had Met Sri Lankan President In Colombo And Discussed On ADB Projects
The discussions were held regarding some of the new projects funded by ADB including US Dollars 70 Million Rural Electrification Project ,US Dollars 100 Million SME Credit Line and US Dollars 40 Million Local Government Enhancement Sector Project .
The ADB President has arrived Sri Lanka for a two day official visit.
One Person Injured Due To An Explosion Occurred At A Firework Manufacturing Company In Katugasthota
The injured who is the owner of Firework Manufacturing Company is now receiving treatment at Kandy General Hospital according to the Police.
The Fire occurred at Firework Company following the explosion was doused by the Kandy Fire Brigade which arrived at the scene with the help of residents in the area.Due to the Fire the Firework Manufacturing Company Building had significantly damaged the Police have said.
Colombo High Court Has Further Remanded Cecille Kothalawala Until 27th Of April
The Attorneys of the imprisoned Cecille Kotahalawala had submitted a bail application on behalf of their client when the case was taken up today which was rejected by the Court.
Cecille Kothalawala was arrested by local Immigration Officials at Katunayake, Bandaranaike International Air Port upon her arrival at the country on 05th of February on charge of misappropriating Rs.26 Billion worth Public Investments at Golden Key Company and remanded her later after being produced before the court.
Imprisoned Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero Has Been Released On Bail
Gnanasara Thero has been released by Homagama Magistrate Ranga Dassanayake this evening on a personal bail of Rs.200,000 after being produced before Magistrate Court .
Gnanasara Thero has been remanded on 26th of January for the charges of threatening Sandhya Ekanaligoda the wife of missing cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda at the Court Premises and contempt of court .
The case against Gnanasara Thero on contempt of court charges has been postponed until 24th of May.
