The Price Control Committee of the National Drugs Regulatory Authority had today (11) approved a 20 percent increase of All medicines selling in the country according to the State Minister Of Drug Production ,Supplies And Regulations Professor Channa Jayasumana .

The State Minster had stated in Parliament today that the Medical Supplies Division got stocks of Medicines sufficient for six month period and Drug Importers also have stocks of Medicine sufficient for 04 month period .

However Government Pharmacists Union had stated that the Government Hospitals currently have a stock of Medicines sufficient for 2-3 weeks and Private Pharmacies have Medicine stocks sufficient for a week period .

Wheat Flour Importers Had Increased The Prices Of Wheat Flour -Prices Of Bread And Bakery Products Too Increased

The two main Wheat Flour importing companies in Sri Lanka .The " Serandib " and "Prima " had increased the price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat Flour by Rs.35 and Rs.40 with effect from today (11) .

With the new price increase the price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat Flour in the local market had increased to Rs.156 it has been announced .

Meanwhile due to the increase of Wheat Flour price ,Bakery Owners had decided to increase A Loaf of 450 Gramme Bread by Rs.30 and other Bakery Products by Rs.10 with effect from midnight tonight All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association had announced .

Accordingly the Price of A Loaf of 450 Gramme Bread will be increased to approx. Rs.100 the Association had stated .

Ceypetco Had Increased All Types Of Diesel And Petrol Prices

Due to devaluation of Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar ,Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO ) had increased the prices of all types of Diesel and Petrol with effect from today (11) .

Accordingly the price of a liter of Octane -92 Petrol had been increased by Rs.77,A liter of Octane -95 Petrol by Rs.76,A liter of Auto Diesel by Rs,55 and A Liter of Super Diesel by Rs.95 the chairman of Ceypetco Sumith Wijesinghe has stated .

With the price increase the new price of a liter of Octane -92 Petrol is Rs.254 and A Liter of Octane -95 Petrol is Rs.283 .Also the new price of Auto Diesel had risen to Rs.176 and A Liter of Super Diesel had risen to Rs.254.However the price of Kerosene Oil will not changed the Ceypetco has announced ,

467 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (11)

A total number of 467 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (11) Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 655,383 according to Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 20,305 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

The number of Corona Positives reported daily in the country is being decreased these days due to the lower number of daily PCR and Rapid Antigen Tests performed in the country it has been revealed ,

Seven Corona Deaths Reported Today (12) .

Another 07 Corona Deaths had been reported in the country today (11) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,381 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).

Accordingly 05 males and 02 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated ,Out of the deceased 06 were over 60 years of age and one was belonged to 30-60 year age group it has been reported. Director General Of Health Services had recently announced that doing PCR Tests for hospital deaths is not compulsory any more .
