An Inquiry Board Had Been Appointed To Investigate On The Charges Against IGP

The Secretary to the Ministry Of Law
and Order Padmasiri Jaymanna had appointed an Inquiry board to investigate on the charges levelled against Inspector General Of Police (IGP ) Pujith Jayasundara.

The Inquiry Board had been appointed after the Minister Of Law and Order Ranjith Madduma Bandara has instructed the Ministry Secretary to inquire on the charges against IGP.

The members of the Board are due to be announced  shortly .

Authorities Have Destroyed Two Wasp Combs At KilinochchI Hospital

KilinochchI Hospital authorities have 
 lit fire and destroyed two Wasp combs at a Hospital buidling last night (19 )despite the protests of Anti Animal Cruelty Unions at KilinochchI and Jaffna .

A huge fire had  erupted as a result of the fire  doused by the Fire squad officials present there before spreading it further.

KilinochchI Hospital authorities have decided to destroy the Wasp combs due to the rousing wasps in the combs attacked patients often it has been revealed.

Amaraweera has decided to submit a Cabinet Paper to the Cabinet on removing the Ban imposed on killing ,Transporting and Selling Wild Boars it has been reported.

Minister has decided to submit the Cabinet in view of minimising the damage done to the Agricultural crops by Wild Boars it has been revealed.


A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To Motorcycle -Tipper Collision

A 23 year old Motorcyclist was killed
after the Motorcycle he was riding in colliding with a Tipper Truck at Maththadiya area ,Chavakachcheri -Jaffna last night (19).

The Motorcycle the deceased was riding  in had been broken in to several pieces due to the incident according to Police.

The body of the deceased who was a resident of mislaI area ,Jaffna had been sent to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

Chavakachcheri Police are conducting an investigation over the incident .

A Section Of The Colombo -Katunayake Express Highway Had Been Temporarily Closed

A section of the Colombo -Katunayake Express High way had been temporarily closed from today (20) until 04 th of October due to the construction work of New Kelani Bridge according to Police.

Accordingly a section 2 meters wide and 200 meters long at a lane towards Katunayake had been temporarily closed.

Public using the Express Highway will be inconvenienced due to the closure Police have said.

Minister Of Law And Order Had Instructed His Ministry Secretary To Inquire On IGP Pujith Jayasundara

Minister of Law and Order Ranjith
Madduma Bandara has today  (20)instructed his Ministry Secretary to conduct an inquiry on the allegations levelled against Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara.

The Deputy Minister of Law and Order Nalin Bandara had informed on this to Parliament today as a response to a question raised by leader of Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna  (JVP) Anura Kumara Dassanayake.

Allegations levelled against IGP over not taking a proper action against director of Terrorism Investigations Division Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) Nalaka De Silva who was charged on  conspiring to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe .

The Deputy Minister however denied the reports appeared in media that the President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe had requested the IGP Jayasundara to resign from his post within next two weeks.

Prime Minister's Office too denied the reports on  Prime Minister requested IGP to resign from his post within two weeks.

A 30 Kilo Meter Long Elephant Fence Was Innaugurated By The President

A 30 Kilo Meter long Elephant Fence built at Gomaraladawala area by using Concrete Posts made  by Sri Lanka Army had been inaugurated by the President Maithripala Sirisena today (20).

Authorities believe the Fence which was built under a pilot project will be useful for rural people in the area to minimise the damages occur due to Elephant -Human conflict.

Transport Ministry To Take Three Steps To Prevent Wild Elephants From Colliding With Trains In Future

To prevent Wild Elephants from
colliding with Trains in future Ministry of Transport has decided to fix an Electronic Circuits at Elephant crossings and place where Wild Elephants gather near rail tracks mostly and to provide facilities to Elephants to cross the road under rail racks it has been announced.

Ministry has also decided to build flyover bridges at the places where more Wild Elephants are attempting to cross over the rail tracks according to Transport Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.

Through the fixing of Electronic Circuits near Elephant Crossings Engine Drivers will be able to find out whether there are Elephants near the Railway tracks from far sway as well as it will help the Elephants to move away from the rail tracks when Trains are arriving ..
A seven member committee headed by Transport Ministry Secretary G.S Vithanage has been appointed yesterday(19) by the Minister to prepare a plan to implement these steps .

Due to the  collision between  Wild Elephants and Trains a large number of Elephants were killed in past and Trains got  damaged the Minister has said.
