A New Party To Be Registered As National Democratic Front

A new political party will be registered
soon under the name "National Democratic Front " according to the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe .

Addressing the "Victory of Democracy " Mass Rally held in Galle Face ,Colombo last Monday evening, Premier Wikramasinghe has stated this new Party will be formed as a political force .

A Motor Car Had Caught Fire In Kelaniya

A Motor Car parked in Old Kandy Road
in Kelaniya had caught fire and destroyed completely last morning (18)according to Paliyagoda Police.

No casualties had been reported due to the incident .

Police believes an Electricity  leak may have caused the fire .

Arjun Aloysius And Kasun Palisena Had Been Further Remanded

Colombo Fort Magistrate Court has
yesterday (18)ordered to Remand The owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius and Chief Executive Officer  (CEO) Kasun Palisena who are in remand over the Charges levelled against them on Central Bank Bond Scam, further until 01st of January.

The two suspects had been further remanded after being  produced before the court yesterday .

Transport activities of Mahiyanganaya -
Badulla road have been disrupted since yesterday (18)due to the continuous falling of Soil Mounds to the road as a result of rainy weather prevailing in it has been reported.

Soil Mounds had fallen in  to the road near Madithale Junction of Mahiyanganaya -Badulla road it has been revealed.

SLFP Central. Committee Approved President's Statement On Not To Offer Ministerial Posts To SLFP MP's Crossed Over To Government

Central Committee of the Sri Lanka
Freedom Party (SLFP)has yesterday accepted a statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena on not to offer Ministerial posts for those who had crossed over to the United National Front government.

Three SLFP MP's have crossed over to the Government yesterday (18)during parliamentary proceedings and three others had joined UNF after President has ousted Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe from his post last October.

The remain 21 SLFP MP's have decided to sit on opposition bench it has been announced by the party .

UNF has meanwhile announced that several other SLFP MP's are currently engaging in talks with the party to join the government.

UNF has already submitted a list of 30 member Cabinet going to be appointed to the President it has been reported.

Meanwhile Parliament which convened yesterday (18)had adjourned until 1 p.m this evening  (19).

Pigeon Island To Closed Down Temporarily


Wild Life Conservation Department has decided to temporarily closed down the Pigeon Island  (Parevi Dupath) National Wild Life Park due to the rough conditions prevailing in Neelaveli Seas in Trincomalee as a result of North Eastern monsoon rain .

This step has been taken to protect the security of  Tourists the Department has stressed. Wild Life Conservation Department has requested the Tourists to follow the advise issued by the Department.

Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe And Several.MP's of His Group Are Being Faced A threat Of Loosing Their Parliamentary Seats

The Newly elected Opposition Leader
MP Mahinda Rajapakshe and several members of his Parliamentary group are being faced a risk of loosing their Parliamentary seats as a result of them being taking  membership of another party although elected to Parliament from a different Party according to leader of the House MP Lakshman Kiriella .

Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella has today(18) informed the speaker Karu Jayasuriya that accordance to the 99 (13) article of the constitution a MP will loose his or her Parliamentary seat within a month after MP shifted to another party from the Party that  MP  has been elected to Parliament.

Opposition Leader Rajapakshe and several.other MP's of his group who had been elected to parliament  from United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) have taken the membership of newly formed Podu JANA Peramuna (PJP)by quitting UPFA .

Therefore Opposition Leader Rajapskshe  and others have no right to attend Parliament sessions under the Parliament standing orders ,He has stressed.

Speaker Jayasuriya Had informed the Leader of the House that he will be looking in to that matter .

Governing UNP Has Named New Leader Of The House And Government Whip

(UNP)Has decided to appoint UNP MP's  Lashman Kiriella and Gayantha Karunathilake as Leader of the House and Chief Government whip respectively. 

United National Front Parliamentarians have seated in Government Bench during today's  (18) parliamentary sessions after appointing UNF Leader Ranil Wilramasinghe as Prime Minister .
Meanwhile UNF has sent a list of proposed Cabinet Ministers to President Maithripala Sirisena it has been reported .

New Cabinet of UNF Government is expecTed to be appointed within this week.

Three UPFA MP's Crossed Over To The Government From Opposition

Three United People's Freedom Alliance
(UPFA) MP's Wijith Wijithamuni Soyza ,Lakshman Seneviratne and Indika Bandaranayake have today (18 ) crossed over to the United National Front (UNF) government side from the opposition after begining today's parliamentary sessions.

Making a special statement before the crossing over UPFA MP Wijith Wijemuni Soyza has stated he would like to thank president Maithripala Sirisena and Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe for given him Cabinet posts suits him during their regimes .He has also stressed it is possible to work with wolves and foxes gathered around former President Rajapakshe. 

Speaker Has Accepted MP.Mahinda Rajapakshe As Opposition Leader

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has today
(18)announced in Parliament he will accept Opposition MP Mahinda Rajapak she as the Opposition Leader .

MP Rajapakshe who had recently appointed as prime Minister illegally by President Maithripala Sirisena and later removed through a court order has been appointed as opposition leader as his party have the majority of members in opposition Speaker has stressed.

Speaker has also accepted Opposition MP Mahinda Amaraweera as the Chief Opposition Whip.

Parliament has convened today at 1 p.m under the patronage of Speaker Jayasuriya .
