French President To Visit Sri Lanka Tomorrow(28)

 French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka tomorrow(28) making it a first visit by any french head of state to Sri lanka .He is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Sri lankan counterpart Ranil Wikramasinghe  tomorrow evening .

Norwegian Embassy In Colombo To Close On 31st

 As the Norwegian Embassy in Colombo is  scheduled to be Closed on 31st of July ,All the bilateral issues  between Norway with Sri Lanka and Maldives will be handled by the Norwegian Embassy in New delhi,India with effect from 01st of August according to the statement issued by the Embassy .


However the reason behind this move has not yet been revealed by the Embassy.The official facebook page of the Embassy  too scheduled to be closed with effect from 31st of July. 

A Pilot Project To Introduce 50 Electeic Buses To Local Transport Sector

 A pilot project is scheduled to be implemented  soon to introduce first ever batch of Electric buses to the country with the aim of Providing a quality  and efficient transport service the State Minister of Transport  Lasantha Alagiyawanna had stated.

Electric buses will be introduced to the country under this project which is being implemented  by the Lakdiva engineering private limited.Cabinet has recently given approval to this project.

Riot Police Fired Tear Gas To Disperse A Univesity Students Protest

 The Riot Police had yesterday (26) fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a Protest march organized by the group of Universiry students attached to Inter University Studenta Federation (IUSF)  near Town hall area  .


The protest march which began from the Viharamahadevi park in Town hall was held by  demanding solutions for several demands including the releasing of the chairman and few members  of Srudents Union attached to kelaniya university who were arrested recently . 

Seventeen Maning Market Traders Arrested Over A Protest Released On Bail

 Colombo Additional Magistrate  had yesterday (26)released 17 traders including the president of the Maning Market Traders union who were  arrested  over holding a protest Campaign in front of the Paliyagoda Maning town market by viloating  a court order .The traders were released on a,surety bail of Rs.100,000 each.


Earlier A court order was issued against holding prorests in front of the Maning market in paliyagoda ,However Traders of the market had  violated the court order and  launched a Protest in front of the Market after closing all trade stalls over  a problem arisen when allocating  trade stalls,for traders.That protest  caused enormous,difficulties for pedestrians in the area it has been reported.Paliyagoda Policw had arrested the suspects and produced before the court .
