Todays Multiple Explosions Occurred As A Result Of Authorities Neglecting Their Responsibllities -Minister Harin Fernando

In an enviornment where the
government Intelligance service was aware on today's brutal attacks , those who have responsibilities to avoid the disaster had seriously avoid there responsibilities by not doing so according to sports minister Harin fernando.

This is a serious situation and as a result innocent civilians of the country have paid the price of it Minister fernando has stated during a press briefing held in Colombo today(21).

Those who should take responsibilities should now perform those and those who had avoid there responsibilities should have faced the punishments he has stressed.

A stern action need to be  taken against those officials who have avoid there responsibilities in.this case he has further said.     

Thirteen Persons Have Been Arrested Regarding Today's Multiple Explosions

Police officers attached to Colombo
crimes division (CCD) have arrested 13 persons regarding today's(21)multiple bomb blasts occurred at Colombo,Negambo and Batticaloa areas according to Police Media Spokesman's office.

Out of these suspects 10 have been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)by the CCD. 

These persons have been arrested mainly regarding the twin explosions occurred at a house in Demaragoda during a police raid this noon.During the raid three police officers had been killed and another had been injured and admitted to Colombo National Hospital as a result of the twin blasts.

Another three bodies of two females and a child had been later recovered from the explosion site by the police.

Van Used To Transport Bombs In Todays Attacks Taken Into Custody

The van suspected as used to transport
bombs for today's attacks in Colombo and outstations had been taken into custody along with it's driver by the police this evening(21).

The Van and the driver had been taken into custody at Ramakrishna Road in Wellawatta.

The Eiffel Tower Will Go Dark In Honor Of The victims

The Eiffel Tower will turn off it's lights starting at midnight tonight (21)to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks in Sri Lanka according to Eiffel Tower management .


In a Twitter message it says -

Prior Information Provided Regarding Today's Attack Not Made Available To Me And The Cabinet -P.M Ranil Wikramasimghe

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe
has today (21)stressed that although information  regarding today's suicide bomb attack   has been given to authorities prior to the attack,auhorities not only not paid any attention for that ,Also not inform on that to him and the Cabinet .

Addressing a media briefing held at His official residence Temple Trees this evening ,Premier Wikramasimghe says the explosions carried out in Three churches ,Three star hotels and another hotel and a house today were suicife bomb attacks.In his speech premier has clearly indicated that today's attacks were suicide attacks which was not highlighted by the media earlier.

Few suspects had been already arrested regarding the explosions and even identified where they have resided in and foreign support they have received to carry out these attacks Prime Minister has stated.

"we should not allow terrorism to raise their heads again in our country .Will take necessary action against those who had involved in this incident" he has further said.

All State Universities Closed Until Further Notice-State Schools Closed For Two Days

All state Universities will be closed
down until further notice and all government schools will be closed for two days tomorrow(22) and day after (23)due to current developments of the country according to University Grants Commission (UGC)and Ministry Of Education .

According to UGC all university students ,The academic and non academic will be received holidays until further notice and those students who are in Hostels can stay there if they want.

Meanwhile the death toll due to eight explosions occurred today has exceeds 200 now according to sources.More than 400 persons have been injured some of them critically due to the incident.


Five Persons Including Three Police Officers Had Been Killed Due To Explosions At Dehiwala And Dematagoda

Five persons including three police
officers had been killed and two persons were injured and hospitalized due to the two explosions occurred at 'Tropical In"Hotel located in Dehiwala and a Housing scheme at Udyanaya road ,Dematagoda this noon(21).

Accordingly two persons had been killed and two others had been injured and admitted to Colombo South (Kalubowila)Teaching Hospital due to an explosion at Tropical in hhotel in Dehiwala behind S.S.Jayasinghe grounds.

In another explosion occurred at a housing scheme at Dematagoda three police officers including a Sub inspector had been killed .

Police have arrested two persons imcluding a  female regarding the explosions at Dehiwala and Dematagoda areas.

Meanwhile authorities have closed down the Dehiwala Zoo with immediate effect following the Dehiwala explosion.

Police Curfew Imposed Island Wide -Investigations Underway To Arrest Those Who Are Responsible For The Attacks

A police curfew is being  cutrently
imposed island wide until  6 a.m tomorrow morning(22) following the eight blasts occurred during today (21)government has announced.

The curfew has been imposed by the Police Department under the instructions of Inspector General Of Police Pujitha Jayasundara .The decision to impose police curfew has been taken during the Security council meeting held this noon under the patronage of President Maithripala sirisena who is also holds the Ministry of Defence .

Police and tri forces chiefs had participated the meeting and it has been decided to set up a national operation center  for carrying out raids to arrest those who were responsible  for todays attacks .

Around nine foreign Nationals had been killed and another four had been hospitalized due to these explosions .


Another Two Explosions Occurred At Dehiwala And Dematagoda


Another Two explosions have  been reported from Dehiwala and Dematagoda areas this noon(21)according to Police.

Few have been injured and admitted to South Colombo (Kalubowila) Teaching Hospital due to a bomb explosion occurred at a small hotel located behind the S.S.Jayasinghe grounds near Dehiwala Zoo it has been revealed.


Another explosion has been reported from a Housing complex at Udyana road ,Dematagoda.However no details have been revealed regarding the casualties .

Meanwhile State Minister of Defense Ruwan Wijewardana has shortwhile ago said during a media briefing held in Colombo that Government is expecting to impose curfew today following the latest developments.




Veteran Culinary Art Expert Shantha Mayadunne Along With Her Eldest Daughter Had Been Killed Due To The Shangri-La Attack

One of the popular and veteran
culinary art experts of the country Shantha Mayadunne was also killed due to the disasterous   bomb attack in Shangri-La hotel this morning(21) it has  been reported.

She was attending a function held at the Hotel with her eldest daughter at the time of the incident .Her eldest daughter nisanga mayadunne was also killed due to the attack.
