A 30 Year Police Constable Was Shot And Killed In Akuressa

A 30 year old Police Constabal attached
to Akuressa Police had been shot and killed during a raid carried out at an illicit liquor spot at Urumuththa ,Akuressa yesterday  (22).

During the Police raid a person related to Illicit liquor spot had fired gun shots towards Policemen and as  a result the Police Constable was killed it has been reported.

The Gunman had fled away from the area and Police have launched a search operation to arrest him .

Two Persons Had Been Arrested With 142.812 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

Two persons had been arrested whilst
transporting 142.812 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in a Motor Car at Madawachchiya Road block by the Army and Madawachchiya Police yesterday  (22).

The stock of Kerala Cannabis taken in to custody by the forces in possession of the suspects had been stored in 66 parcels according to reports .

The suspects are residents of Anuradhapura and they were arrested accordance to the information provided by Navy Personal.

Madawachchiya Police are conducting an investigations over the incident. 

P.M Advised Internal Affairs Minister To Implement A policy To Write Name Boards Of All Streets In The Country Only In Three Languages

Had advised Minister Of Internal Affairs and Provincial Councils Vajira Abeywardana To implement a policy that all name boards of  the  streets in the country should be written only in Three  languages Sinhala ,Tamil and English .

Accordingly name boards of  All the streets of the country will be written in these three languages only in future and  other language like Arabic will not  be allowed to use for these name boards .

Among The Suspects Arrested By CID Over Easter Sunday Bombings There Were 20 Suicide Bombers

Out of the 69 suspects arrested over
Easter Sunday bombings by the Criminal Investigations Department  (CID) around 20 were suicide bombers belonging to banned National Thowheeth Jamaath Organization it has been reported .

These Suicide Bombers are followers of  Chief bomber of the Easter Sunday bombings Mohommad Zahran Hashim and through extremist preaches and CD's  mentality of suicide bombing has been created among them it has been revealed during the questioning .

All suspects arrested by the CID over Easter Sunday bombings  are now being questioned under detention orders .

President Has Signed The Notification. To Release Improsoned Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero On Presidential Pardon


President Maithripala Sirisena had signed Notification on releasing imprisoned General Secretary of Bodu Bala Sena Organization Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero under Presidential pardon it has been reported.

Accordingly to the Bodu Bala Sena Organization Galagodaatte Thero who had been sentenced to six years imprisonment over four charges including contempt of Court is most ikely to be released tomorrow (23).

Galagodaatte Thero is currently in Welikada Prison Hospital serving his jail term .President Had met him at the prison after releasing a group of prisoners to mark Vesak on last Saturday (18).

Meanwhile Western Provincial Governor Asath Sali and Minister Ravi Karunanayake had today met with Galagodaatte Thero in prison and held discussions around one and half hours it has been revealed.

President Has Extended The Emergancy Law For Another Month

President Maithripala Sirisena has
today (22)issued an extra ordinary Gazette Notification regarding extending the Emergancy law for another month .

The Emergancy law has been implemented after the Easter Sunday bombings  under the powers vested with President accordance to 02 nd article of Public security act.

Under the Emergancy law President has banned National Thowheeth Jamaath ,Jamaath Milathei Ibrahim and Vilayan SeylanI organization's and also banned Face covering Cloths imcluding Burka and Niqab soon after the Easter Sunday bombings on 20th Of April  

Court Issued Summons To 08 Copper Factory Workers to Re- Appear Before Court

Colombo Magistrate Court has today 
(22)issued summons to 08 suspects attached to Copper factory in Wellampitiya owned by one of the Suicide Bombers carried out Easter Sunday attacks ,who had been arrested and released on bail earlier to re- appear before the court on 27 th of May .
The 08 suspects who had been involved in making bombs used for Easter Sunday attacks had been released on bail by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage on 05 th may as the Police Constable appeared with the suspects not able to provide required proof to confirm the suspects were responsible for Easter Sunday attacks.

One suspect out of the 09 suspects arrested over the bomb issue had been remanded as he was not able to fulfill bail requirements.

Court has issued summons to the suspects to reappear before court after considering the notion filed by Wellampitiya Police requesting the suspects to be produced before court to commence the investigations against the suspects.

Wellampitiya Police OIC Had Been Transferred To Galle

Wellampitiya Police OIC Chief Inspector
G.S Hewawithana has been transferred to Galle Police division with immediate effect on approval of National Police Commission over his failure to provide necessary proof to Remand 09 workers attached to Copper factory in Wellampitiya owned by one of the Suicide bombers of Easter Sunday attacks.

The transfer had been implemented as a service requirement according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

Wellampitiya Police OIC was charged over allowing Colombo Additonal Magistrate to release the 09 suspected workers arrested from Copper factory which used to made bombs  utilised for Easter Sunday bombings .

As the OIC Had sent an inexperienced Police Constable with the suspects and allow the suspecTs to he freed on bail Police Headquarters had launched an investigations over the incident. Wellampitiya OIC was transferred as a result of the ongoing inquiry it has been revealed .

President Advised Security Forces Not To Block Roads When VIP.Vehicles Moving On

President Maithripala Sirisena had
instructed the security forces not to to close the roads when VIP Vehicles moving on  as it caused inconvenience for the public according to the Presidential Media Division .

President  Sirisena had paid attention on this during the Cabinet briefing held yesterday (21) it has been revealed .

During last few days prior to Vesak amd after roads in Kolonnawa, Near NELUM Pokuna Theater and Colpetty were blocked by polce to allow VIP Vehicles to move on first time since a decade it has been reported.
