Five Persons Arrested With A Stock Of Expensive Wallapatta In Wellawatte
Five persons including three Indian national were arrested by the Wellawatte Police with 17 Kilo Grammes and 428 Grammes of expensive "Wallapatta" or "Gyrinops Walla"in their possession at Wellawatte area.
The five suspects are due to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate today(27).The suspects are residents of Galle and weligama(Southern Province) areas.

Imprisoned Former Sri Lanka's Ambassador To USA Jaliya Wikramasuriya Has Been Further Remanded
Former Sri Lanka's Ambassador to United States Of America Jaliya Wikramasuriya ,who was arrested and remanded over misusing of state funds while at office has been further remanded today(27) until 09th of February by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
The former Ambassador was further remanded after being produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.The Bail application submitted by Attorney's of the suspect was rejected by the Magistrate it has been reported.

Large Number Of Goods Belonging To The Female Students Had Destroyed Due To A Fire In Jaffna University Hostal
A large number of goods belonging to the female
university students were destroyed due to a fire occurred in a new female hostal attached to the Jaffna University yesterday (26) .
A minor fire broke out at a first floor in the nearby building spreads to the new female hostal as well by last noon and several parts of the Hostal destroted due to it.
The fire brigade arrived at the scene doused the fire after a long battle it has been reported.
Due to the situation Jaffna University authorities have postponed all the exams scheduled to be held today (27) and on Monday (30) it has been announced,

A Polythene Manufacturing Factory Destroyed Due To A Fire
A polythene manufacturing factory at Hunupitiya,Wattala(Colombo)was completely destroyed this morning (26)due to a sudden fire broke out it has been reported.
The fire brigade arrived in the scene has doused the fire ,however due to the spreading of the fire few houses nearby were damaged the Authorities have stated.
No one was injured or died due to the incident it has been revealed.The value of the damage caused to the factory has not yet been revealed .
Kiribathgoda Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Two Slovakian Nationals Were Arrested Over Drewing Graffiti In A Train
Railway Authorities had arrested two Slovakian Nationals who drew Graffiti on their train compartments of an Express Train today(26) after the train stopped at Matara Railway station.
The railway authorities had also taken into custody paint cans ,a camera,paint brushes and a Motor Cycle in possession of the two Slovakian Nationals.
During the questioning the two Slovakian's have stated that they drew Graffiti as a hobby.
The authorities have handed over the two to Matara Police for further investigations.
