Sri Lankan Forces Recovered 100KG Gold,Cash And Ammunition Hidden By LTTE

Sri Lankan Army Troops recovered 100 Kilo Grammes of Gold and Cash worth 6.5 Million Rupees hidden by the LTTE Rebels in a Search Operation conducted at Puthukudiyirippu area in Northern Sri Lanka yesterday.

Troops conducting search operations in Nine areas of the Vanni District in the North and recovered Ammunition including Three Thousand Seven Hundred And Eighty rounds of Multi Purpose Machine Gun.

Troops recovered another set of Ammunition during the search operation at the Eastern District of Trincomalee

One Hundred Fifty Thousand HIB Vaccines Were Expired At The Epidemeology Unit

Around One Hundred Fifty Thousand (150,000) HIB or Pantavalant Vaccines which is introduced to the Sri Lankan National Immunization Programme on January 2008 and later temporarily suspended due to child mortality were expired and stored in the Epidemiology Unit Stores Health Sources revealed.These Vaccines are worth around 15 Million Rupees according to the sources.

HIB Vaccine which can protect the infants from five diseases are prescribed for them at the ages of Two,Four and Six Months.This Vaccine was Temporarily removed from the National Immunization Campaign on April Last year as four infants were died after administered the Vaccine.However A World Health Organization Expert investigating on these Child Deaths and issued a report stating that the Vaccine has nothing to do with these deaths according to the Ministry of Health.

This HIB Vaccine stock was donated to Sri Lanka by the Gavy Foundation.

Even WHO Expert given a clearance to the Pantavalant Vaccine the inquiry report was not publicized and not re issued the Vaccine either.HIB Vaccine is administered to infants to protect against Diptheria,Whooping Cough,Tetanus,Hepatitis-B and Measles.

Sri lankan Swine Flu Patients Tally Increased To Eight

Another Three Swine Flu Patients including Two Female Philippine Nationals were identified from Sri Lanka yesterday on their Arrival at the Katunayaka International Air Port of Colombo as the total number of Swine Flu Patients reported here arisen to eight.
Other one identified as Swine Flu Patient was an eighteen year old Sri Lankan youth returned from London.

Two Philippine Patients were aged 28 and 40 are came to Sri Lanka from Manila on a Sri Lankan Air Lines Flight and due to fly for another destination on a Transit Flight when they were detected as showing Swine Flu symptoms at the Air Port.These three patients were sent to the Angoda Fever Hospital in Colombo Suburbs soon after detected their health status according to the Air Port Health Office.

Now there are Four Swine Flu Patients and two suspected Patients getting treatment at the fever hospital.
