Five Persons Injured Due To A Bus Accident

Image result for accident graphicFive persons including two students were injured and hospitalized after a Bus veering off the road and crashed into a nearby shop on Puttalam-Eluwankula road this morning(23).

The injured were admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital for treatment.

The Bus was traveling to Puttalam from Karathivu area when it met with the accident.

A Person Was Killed And Several Others Missing Due To A Sand Mount Collapse In Mawanella

Image result for accidentA person was severely injured and hospitalized  and several  others reported as trapped after a sand mount of a Construction Site in Mawanella area collapsed on them this morning(23).

The injured was admitted to the Mawanella Hospital.

Police and the residents of the area are currently engaging  in a rescue operation by using backo machines to save the lives of those trapped inside the debris of the site it has been reported.

No Sri Lankans Among The Victims Of Manchester Attack -Foreign Ministry

The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs has announced this morning(23) that there are no reports that any of the Sri Lankans living in United Kingdom are among the victims of the deadly terrorist attack taken place in Manchester Arena in United Kingdom few hours ago at the end of the concert of American female singer Arianna Grande.

The singer is unharmed due to the incident .

Around 19 persons have been killed and 50 others injured due to the attack .

Two Persons Have Been Arrested With 327 Kilos Of Kerala Cannabis

The special police task force personal have arrested
two persons with 327 Kilos and 994 grammes of Kerala Cannabis in their possession in Kelanimulle area,Angoda today (22).

The two suspects had been handed over to the Police Nacotic Bureau for future course of action the special police task force personal have stated.

A 18 Year Old School Boy Had Committed Suicide By Jumping In Front Of A Train

A 18 year old school boy studied at
Nivanthakachethiya Collage in Anuradhapura had today(22) committed suicide by jumping in front of the Yal Devi train travelling from Colombo to Kankasanthurai in Anuradhapura .

The body of the deceased who is due to sit for the G,C,E A/ Level examination from commerce stream this year has been transported to.the Anuradhapura Railway station from.the same train.

The cause for the suicide has not yet been revealed .

A Person Was Killed Due To A Road Accident In Panadura

A 53 year old person was killed after colliding with a Van while crossing the road near Private Bus Station in Panadura.

The critically injured person had succumbed to his injuries after admission to the Panadura Hospital.

The deceased had been identified as a resident of Walapala ,Pandaura.

President Sirisena To Leave Australia Tomorrow(23) For An Official Visit

During his tour Sri Lankan President is due to hold bi lateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and other higher officials of the Australian government including Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

President Sirisena and the Sri Lankan delegation is due to meet Sri Lankan business community in Sydney on 26th of May.

A 29 Year Old Airman Was Killed And Another Injured Due To A Motorcycle-Lorry Collision

A 29 year old Airman was killed and another was injured and hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were  in colliding with a Lorry in Rideemaliyadda area on Mahiyanganaya -Bibile main road.

The critically injured Airman (Pillion rider) had succumbed to his injuries after admission to the Bibile Hospital.

The injured  Motorcycle rider is currently receiving treatment in the Bibile Hospital.

Rideemaliyadda Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Around 36 female Garment workers have been injured ,04 of them critically and hospitalized after the Bus they were traveling in veering off the road and crashed in to a tree nearby in Nikaweratiya area .

The Bus was transported the Garment workers to their office at the time of the accident.

Thilak Marapona has been appointed as Minister of Development Affairs  ,Minister of Mass Media Gayantha Karunathialke sworn in as the new Minister of Land and Parliamentary Affairs.

The minister of Social Empowerment S.B Dissanayake has been appointed as the new minister of Upcountry Development Affairs and the Minister of Labor and Trade Union Relations John Seneviratne had given Sabaragamuwa Development as a new portfolio in addition to his current portfolio .

The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Mahinda Amraweera who is the Minister of Fisheries received a new State Ministerial Portfolio on Mahaweli Development.

Male To Female Ratio In Sri Lanka Declining Further

The ratio is due to decline further it is estimated that by the year 2022 the ratio will be 92.2 males per 100 females.

The female population in Sri Lanka is on the increase and the male population is decreasing since 1981 due to numerous factors it has been revealed.

In the year 1981 male to female ratio in the country stands as 104 males per 100 females and since then the female population exceeds the male population an experts have stated during a Media Workshop held today(22) at the Sri Lanka family planning association office  in Colombo.
