Prices Of Several Essential Drugs Including Cancer Drugs Will Be Reduced In This Month-Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne

Prices of several essential drugs including highly priced Cancer drugs in the market will be reduced within this month according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

Addressing the first ever SAARC Regional workshop on Non Conmunicable Diseases inaugurated at Galle Face Hotel yesterday(31) Health Minister has stressed that the price reductions of these essential drugs will be done soon.

Speaking on the issuing of Stents for heart patients in government hospitals the Minister says that due to the issuing of free stents the waiting list of those patients need the Stent implant in Colombo National Hospital has expanded  and the number of stent implants performs in the hospital has been increased from 50-60 implants per month to 450-500 implants per month .

A Sixteen Year Old Boy Was Arrested Over An Inhuman Rape Case

A sixteen year old boy was arrested by

the Arachchikattuwa Police over sexually molesting his 14 year old girl friend at Arachchikattuwa area today.

The suspect has been reported as sexually molested the girl on 27 th of March and the arrest was made as per a complaint made to  police by the mother of the girl.

The girl was admitted to the Chilaw Hospital for a medical check up and the suspect is due to produce before Chilaw Magistrate Court .

A Person Was Arrested With 600 Mili Grammes Of Heroin

Anamaduwa Police have arrested a 31
year old Person with 600 mili grammes of heroin in his possession at Kottukachchiya,Anamaduwa area last afternoon(31).

The suspect who is a resident of Sirigampala colony in Wennappuwa was arrested while preparing to sell the haul of heroin .He was caught after a police officer appeared before him as a consumer bought 100 mili gramme pack of heroin from him.

Suspect is due to produce before the Anamaduwa Magistrate Court.

Seven Tea Estate Workers Were Injured Due To A Wasp Attack

Seven estate workers including five
females attached to the Hoodville Tea Estate in Agarapathana area have been injured and hospitalized due to a wasp attack this morning(01).

The injured were admitted to the Agarapathana District Hospital for treatment.The workers were attacked by the wasps while plucking tea leaves.
