Police Had Recovered The Body Of The Bambalapitiya Businessman Who Went Missing From Mawanella
Mawanella Police have recovered the body of the millionaire businessman in Bambalapitiya (Colombo) who had been reported as missing since few days from rukulagama area in Mawanella last evening.
The body was reported as decomposed and the father of the businessman has identified his son's body through the cloths and jewelry wore by the businessman.

Air Port Customs Officers Have Detained Three Suspects With 400 Cigarrette Cartons While Attempting To Smuggle Them To The Country
Three Persons including two females and a male were detained by the Sri Lanka Customs Officers early hours yesterday(24)at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port while attempting to smuggle 400 Cigarette Cartons to the country valued around Rs
2.8 million.
During the inspection customs officers had recovered 400 cartons of cigarettes packed with 80,000 sticks in the bags of the suspects .
Customs Officers are conducting further Investigations on the incident.

No Sri Lankan Has Been Affected Due To The Earthquake Occurred In Italy

Government Will Consider The Proposals To Devolve The Powers To The Provinces-Minister Mano Ganeshan

Cabinet Has Approved A Proposal To Strengthen The Coordinating Secretariat For Reconcilation Mechanisms
Cabinet has yesterday (23)approved a proposal submitted by Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe to strengthen the coordinating Secretariat for reconciliation mechanisms.
Accordingly cabinet has approved the proposal made by prime minister to provide necessary funds and human resources for the Secretariat.
The secretariat was established in 2015 as per a decision taken by the cabinet to implement decisions ,processes and programmes related to reconciliation productively.
It is headed by Mano Thiththawella and judicial mechanism and office of reparations ,The Office Of Missing Persons,Truth,Justice,Reconciliation and non recurrence commission will be functioned under the Secretariat.

Senior DIG Anura Senanayake And Former Crimes OIC Sumith Perera Were Further Remanded Over The Murder Of Former Rugby Player
Senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) Anura Senanayake and former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who were detained and remanded over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen have been further remanded by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris today(24) until 07th of September .
The two suspects have been further remanded after they are being produced before the Magistrate Court today.
When the case on Thajudeen's murder was taken into consideration today at the Colombo Magistrate Court the government lawyer has informed the court that further investigations are underway on CCTV footage and telephone calls taken attached to the murder .
Former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen was murdered in May 2012 and it was earlier considered by the authorities as a death occurred due to an accident.
