Firearms And Bullets Have Been Recovered In An Unused Land In North
Police have recovered two T-56
firearms ,A magasine firearm and 82 live bullets all are decaying and hidden inside an unused land at puliyanpokkanai area in Darmapuram,Kilinochchi on Monday(16).
Darmapuram police had informed the incident to the land owner as well it has been reveales.
Police believes that the LTTE may hidden them during the war period in view of re using them later.
Darmapuram Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Fielding Coach Of The Sri Lankan Cricket Team Nick Pothas Had Resigned
Pothas who joined as Sri Lankan Cricket Team's fielding coach in 2016 had promoted to head coach post in June 2017 following the resignation of Sri Lanka's heas coach ,The South African born Graham Ford.
However he was removed from.the post last December affer appointing Sri Lankan Born Chandika Hathurusinge the currrent head coach.
One Person Was Killed And Sixteen Injured Due To Vehicle Collision
A person was killed and Sixteen others
have been injured and hospitalized due to the two vans they were travelling in colliding each other at Kappetipola junction on Welimada-Nuwara-Eliya road this evening(17).
The injured were admitted to Welimada Hospital and ten of the critically injured persons have been later transferred to Badulla Hospital for further treatment.

A Female Was Drowned In Kelaniya River
A 24 year old female has drowned today(17) while bathing in Kelaniya River at Yatiberiya in Ginigathhena area with her family members .
The deceased female had drifted away with the strong currents of the river while bathing and disappeared it has been revealed.
The family members of the female and residents of the area have recovered the body of the female during a search operation and he body was sent to the Thaligama Hospital in Kitulagala according to the Ginigathhena Police.
The deceased was a resident of Kandy it has been revealed.Boards are being displayed in the area where the deceased went to bath as bathing in the River is dangerous the Police have stated.

Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage Was Released On Bail
The former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage who had remanded yesterday (18) after releasing on bail has been released on bail today(17) by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ,after producing the relevant documents requested by the Court as a bail condition .
The former Sports Minister of the previous regime had been arrested yesterday by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) over misusing of state funds to purchase Carom and Darts Boards during previous regime .However after being produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate he was released on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each and a cash bail of Rs.35,000.
Later the former Minister was remanded by the same Magistrate as he failed to hand over his passport to the court as requested due to handed over the passport to Colombo High Court over another case filed against him.
However as he has produced the relevant documents to fulfill his bail application conditions today ,The Colombo Fort Magistrate has released him on bail.

A Female Was Killed Due To Three Wheeler -Van Collision
A Female was killed and Three others including her husband and two children were injured and Hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were traveling in colliding with a Van last night(16) at the Polathumodara Junction on Galle-Matara main road.
The deceased and the injured were identified as the residents of Habaraduwa area.
The Van had escaped from the scene after the incident according to Police.

A Person Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack
A 24 year old person was killed due to a Wild Elephant attack at Karuwalagaswewa area on Puttalam-Anuradhapura Main Road last night(16) while travelling in a Bicycle .
The critically injured Cyclist had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Puttalam Base Hospital.
The deceased was a resident of Karuwalagaswewa area.
