All the schools in Puttalam District are being closed today (20)due to the adverse weathee conditions prevailing in the district at present the Governor of the North Western Province has announced.

India Extended LTTE Ban for Another Five Years
India have decided to extend the ban imposed on LTTE for another five years the Ministry of Internal affairs in India has announced yesterday (14).
This decision to extend
the LTTE Ban has been taken as LTTE Supporters are trying to increase the support base of the organization by spreading extremist ideas the Ministry has anmounced.
NBRO Issued Landslide Warnings To Four Districts
The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) had yesterday (14) issued landslide warnings to 17 Provincial Secretariet divisions of fout districts as a result of the heavy showers prevailing in those areas at present.

The Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department ( CID)had arrested the second suspct in connection with the leaking of English Exam of the ongoing G.C.E O/Level exam paper it has been announced. involved.
The suspect who was involved in Examination duties was arrested in Kandy it has been reported.The main suspect of the leaking of Emglish paper who is a teacherand administrator ofa Whatsapp group was arrested by the CID Officers in Kandy yesterday(12).The leaked English exam paper was shared among students via Whatsapp group it has been revealed.
A Jaffna,Resident Died Due to Extreme Heat
A 68 year old Jaffna Resident has died due to thd high temperatures experienced in the district.
The deceased was
identified as the resident of Eastern Andawar Thottam area in Jaffna district it has been revealed. He was pronounced as dead after been hospitalized due to.fainting as a result of the high temperatures.

Nine Persons Were Injured Due To A Bus Accident
Nine persons were injured and hospitaliZed after a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bus travelling from Hanguranketha area to Kamdy veering off the road amd toppled over yestetday(11).The injured were admitted to the Kandy Teaching and Rilillagaskada Hospitals for treatment .
The driver and the Bus Conductor are also among the injured and the Thalathuoya Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

The Former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority(NMRA) Dr.Vijith Gunasekare who was arrested by the Criminal Investigatons Department( CID) few days back over the purchasing of substandard medicines has been remanded until 20 th of May by the Maligakanda Magistrate Court yesterday(09)
He was arrested by the CID Officers after recording a 10 hour long statement over the purchasing of substandard drugs and produced before Maligakamda Magistrate court yesterday.

A Couple Arrested With A stock Of Narcotics
The Special Police Task Force Personal had arrested a couple in possession of a stock of natcotics worth over Rs.15 million in Colombo it has been reported.
