A Buddhist Nun Was Passed Away Due To A Road ACCIDENT

Image result for accidentA 65 year old Buddhist Nun (Bhikkuni)was passed away  after colliding with a Bus near the Bus Stand in Embilipitiya it has been reported.

The critically injured Buddhist  Nun had succumbed to her injuries after admission to the Embilipitiya Hospital.The deceased was identified as Bhikkuni Mithrani of Galle resided at  Dhammapradeeparamaya in Alawanguwa area.

The accident occurred while the Bus driver attempting to turn the Bus in to the Bus stand and Embilipitiya Police have arrested the driver regarding the accident.

A Sudden Fire Erupted In A Sewing Center At Cinnamon Gardens

A sudden fire erupted in a Sewing Center located at the second floor of the Three storied Building in Rosmeed Place,Cinnamon Gardens early this morning (05)had doused jointly by the Fire Brigade of Colombo Municipal Council and Cinnamon Gardens Police .

The cause of the fire not yet been revealed and Cinnamon Gardens Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

All Pre Schools In Matara To Be Closed Until 10th Of June

The School Development Association of Matara District has stated that the Association has decided to close all Pre Schools for five more days in addition to the Southern Provincial Education Ministry's decision to close them until today (05) as a safety measure.

A Person Was Arrested With A Stock Of Cigarette Sticks Illegally Brought Sri Lanka

A 46 year old person was arrested by the Airport Customs this morning (05) while attempting to smuggle 120 Cartons contains 29,960 Cigarette Sticks wrapped in 398 wrappers  illegally to the country at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspect who had arrived at the Airport via  a flight  from Dubai is a resident of Kolonnawa area  the Customs have said.

The estimated value of the Cigarette sticks taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.1.49 million it has been revealed/

Three Persons Including The Chairman Of Lindula Urban Council Were Arrested And Remanded Over Abducting A Little Girl

Three persons including the Chairman
of the Thalawakale-Lindula Urban Council Ashoka Sepala have been arrested and remanded over abducting a five year old girl to be sold at Agarapathana in Portmanwatte in 2017

Police have arrested the three suspects yesterday(03) and after being produced before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Court ,They were remanded until 11 th of June.

A Van Had Fallen In To A Precipice In Thalawakale Due To The Adverse Weather-No One Was Injured

A Van was severely damaged after toppling over to a precipice around 25 feet deep at Thalawakale -Holyroodwatte  area in Thalawakele -Pundaluoya main road this evening (04).

No one in the Van which  traveling from Watagoda to Thalawakale was injured due to the incident according to reports.

The accident was occurred due to a slippery condition of the road caused by the Adverse Weather the Thalawakele Police have stated,

A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Train Engine Collison

A Motorcyclist was killed on the spot after the Motorcycle he was riding colliding
with a Train Engine at Ambalangoda -Kahawa Uduwaragoda unprotected railway crossing last night (03).

The deceased Motorcyclist who was a resident of Akuraladuwa in Ambalangoda faced this incident while attempting cross the unprotected Railway crossing  and as a result his Motorcycle had collided with a Train Engine running from Colombo to Galle it has been revealed.

The Two gate keepers who are  due to be in duty yesterday were absent at the time of the incident.

Two Persons Were Arrested With More Than 55 Grammes Of Heroin

Police have yesterday(03) arrested two persons with 55.230 Grammes of Heroin in their possession at Borella and Mount Lavinia areas according to the Police Media Spokesman's Office.
The two suspects who are residents of Halgahakumbura in Borella and Badowita in Mount Lavinia are scheduled to be produced before the Maligakande and Mount Lavinia Magistrate Courts.

Wife And Daughter Of The Eastern Province Governor Who Were Surrendered To The Court Released On Bail

Image result for court orderThe wife and the daughter of Eastern Province Governor Rohita Bogollagama who were charged on attempting to assault a female and grab Rs.25,000 belongs to her have been surrendered to the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court this morning (04).

However afterwards the Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake had released them on surety bails of Rs.100,00 each 

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Court had ordered the Police to arrest the two suspected females  on last Friday (01)over not appearing before the court to face a case filed against them at the court by  Cinamon Gardens Police over the incident.

Ratnapura-Nivithigala Main Road Was Closed Due To Adverse Weather

Related imageThe Ratnapura-Nivithigala Main road has been  closed due to a sinking risk of Kambadola Bridge in the road and as a result all Transport activities of the road have been suspended it has been reported.

The Kambadola Bridge is  being risk of sinking due to the Adverse Weather prevails in the area .Motorists are being advised to use an alternative routes when traveling.


The 100 year old Bridge was built by the British rulers and according to the Road Development Authority the Bridge can be renovated and open within two weeks if the weather improves.

The Viral Fever Spreading In Southern Province Confirmed As Caused Due To Influenza-A Virus

Image result for influenza aThe viral fever which spreading in the Southern Province since last April has been confirmed as a fever caused by Influenza-A Virus according to the Dr.Jude Jayamaha attached to the Medical Research Institute in Borella(Colombo).

The viral fever spreading in   Southern Province is a Seasonal Influenza Flu and people should not panic over it he has stressed while addressing a Press Briefing held at the office of Director General Of Health Services in the Ministry Of Health this noon(04) regarding the fever.

At present the flu is under control and few deaths have been reported due to complications he has stated.

The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe has stated that all the necessary drugs and equipment have been provided to the Hospitals in south to treat the Influenza Patients and the best way to prevent  getting of the flu is avoid crowded places and adapt proper sanitary methods.

Minister Of Health To Get An Opinion Of The Attorney General Regarding Removing Illegal SPA's

spas in srilanka සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලMinister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has decided to get an opinion of the Attorney General regarding removing a large number of Massage Centers (SPA) maintained in the island by showing fraudulent documents .

Health Minister has taken this decision after the Provincial Ayurveda Commissioners had shown him that a large number of such fake Massage Centers are being maintained in provincial areas illegally .Health Minister has stated that he is seeking an opinion from the Attorney General to pass a law on removing illegal Massage Centers located in the Island.

A large number of Provincial Ayurveda Commissioners had shown the Health Minister during the Provincial Indigenous Medicine Ministers Summit held at the National Blood Center in Narahenpita today (04)  that around 300 such Illegal Massage Centers are currently being located within  Maharagama Urban Council limits of the Western Province however only four Massage Centers in the City Limits got permission to carried out activities .

Even Police ,The Maharagama Urban Council and Ayurveda Department have jointly conducted an investigation regarding these Massage Centers last Saturday ,However failed to remove them although they are illegal due to the lack of legal provision available to go for a such action the Ayurveda Commissioners have stated.
