Tense Situation Had Occurred In Wedamulle,Kotmale Due To A Road Accident

A tense situation has occurred after a female was killed yesterday(28) due to a road accident in Wedamulle,Kotmale (Central Hills),when a lorry run over the female  .This accident has been  occurred when the deceased female was crossing the road.

Soon after the accident has occurred the angry residents of the area surrounded the Lorry which run over female and attacked both the vehicle and  driver with sticks and bricks,

The Police have arrested the Lorry Driver over the accident.

Students Attached To Two Universities Have Conducted A Protest Campaign Against Attack Over Meethotamulle Residents

Students attached to the Rajarata and Sri Jayawardenapura Universities have today(28) conducted a one hour protest campaign from 12 noon to 1 p.m against yesterday's attack over the residents of Meethotamulle (In Colombo) who have  protested against garbage disposal site in Meethotamulle.  

Like previous government ,Current government too adapting  aggressive measures when addressing  the  people's grievances despite giving  solutions

 for them the convener of the Inter University Students Federation Lahiru Weerasekere has said.

Water Board Employees To Launch A Three Hour Island Wide Strike Tomorrow(29)

The employees of the National Water Supplies  And Drainage Board who are currently withdrawn from Over Time and Night Shift  Work  of the Board are due to launch a three hour island wide strike from 9 a,m to 12 noon tomorrow(29) according to the Joint Trade Union Alliance Of National Water Supplies And Drainage Board .

During the scheduled three hour strike there may be breakdowns  in water supply the Joint Trade Union Alliance has said.

The Water Board Employees have  launched this trade union action due to  the  slashing of their Bonuses by the Water Board Management  .
