Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe has been appointed as the leader of the newly formed "Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna(Sri Lanka Progressive Front ) during it's first national convention held this evening (11) at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo .
After welcoming the guests participated the National Convention ,Opposition Leader has named his younger brother and former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe as the Presidential Candidate for the forthcoming Presidential Election .The former Defense Secretary was named as the Presidential Candidate at a time when a question had arisen whether he had removed his US citizenship as Dual Citizens are not allowed to contest local elections and there's two fraud cases against him currently in Courts.
