Cabinet Cannot Interfere The Activities Of Parliamentary Select Committee -Prime Minister

Cabinet cannot interfere the activities
of Parliamentary select committee proving Easter Sunday attacks as it was appointed under the agreement of all Political parties representing in the Parliament Prime Mimister Ranil Wikramasinghe has stressed today (11).

Addressing a group of members  representing Civil organization's at His official Residence in Temple Trees ,Colombo today Premier has stated that he will not betray the peoples rights and Parliaments sovereignty under any circumstance.

As the Malalgoda committee probed on the Easter Sunday attacks had handed over its report already can implement the recommendations made by that report he has revealed.

Cabinet will not abolished  if it's not convened by the president Premier has stressed.

President Has Not Convened Today's(11) Cabinet Meeting

President Maithripala Sirisena didn't
convene the weekly Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held today (11)over not responding his request to halting the activities of Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday attacks it has been reported.

President has stressed during the Special Cabinet meeting he had convened  last week that if the government is  not halting the activities of Parliamentary Select Committee he will not attend the furore Cabinet Meetings and not supporting the government as well.

However government has decided to carry out the proceedings of the select committee as usual.

Majority Members Of The Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday Attacks Refused To Meet President To Discuss On It's Activities

Majority members  of the
Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday attacks had opposed a proposal submitted by one of the Committee members to meet president Maithripala Sirisena and discuss on the future activities of the committee.

Majority members of the committee are in the view that the committee proceedings should be carried out as usual as the speaker Karu Jayasuriya had also expressed on it .

Minister of Postal and Muslim Affairs Abdul Haleem had supported the Thowheeth Jamaath Organization which was responsible for Easter Sunday attacks according to former Western Province Governor Azath Sally.


Giving evidence before the Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday attacks today (11 )at the Parliamentary Complex Former Governor has stressed that the Thowheeth Jamaath Organization led by Mohommad Zahran acted together with Kaththankudy Police and the police station had not taken any action against Zahran when he burnt 120 houses of traditional Muslims in Kaththankudy in 2017 .

Former Governor Sally has also stressed that he had warned over Zahran a week ahead of the Easter Sunday attacks .

When the committee had requested the Sally to produce evidence on his allegations he told he had no time to bring evidence when the committee  has requested him to appear before it .

The select committee is due to meet tomorrow  (12 )as well .

Some Workers Of The CTB To Launch A Strike From Midnight Tonight (11)

State owned Ceylon Transport Board
(CTB) workers had decided to launch an Island Wide Bus strike from midnight tonight  (11)demanding the salaries they are  entitled  with their  promotions according to the National Workers Union (Jathika Sewaka Sangamaya) attached to CTB.

The strike will be launched as the talks held with authorities regarding the demands had failed the union has stressed.

The National Workers Union members had launched a fasting campaign in front of United National Party Headquarters in Colombo,Sirikotha"  since yesterday demanding a solution for their demand .

Mayor Had launched a fast to Death Campaign Infront of Moratuwa Municipal Council demanding President Maithripala Sirisena to withdraw statements he made imconvenienciing Traditional Carpentry Industry and Carpenters in the country .

The protesters also demanding to withdraw Moratuwa from any Gazette Notification scheduled to be issued regarding banning new Carpentry sheds. 

A group of persons including  car 
penters and Members of Moratuwa Municipal Council  had launched a "Sathyagraha"campaign in front of Moratuwa Municipal Council last Sunday demanding President to revert back his decision to ban new Carpentry sheds in.the country as it will aFfect the future of carpenters. 

However as President didn't respond to the demand four persons had launched the fast to death campaign this morning it has been revealed. 




Prime Minister Had Condemned Former Governor Hisbulla's Statement

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe
has today  (11)condemned the statement made by former Eastern Province Governor M.L.A.M. Hisbulla saying Although Muslim Community is a minority in Sri Lanka it's a majority Globally ,So Muslims will not come under anyone.

By condemnning the statement made by former Governor Hisbulla, Prime Minister has stressed that If he is a Sri Lankan should know who is  majority and who is minority.Therafter  can talk about each ones rights .

Prime Minister has revealed this during a discussion held with representatIves of Civil organization's at Temple Trees in.Colombo today (11).

Former Governor Hisbulla has stressed during a public meeting held in Eastern province recently that neither Prrsident Sirisena ,Prime Minister Ranil or Opposition leader Mahinda can rule Muslims as they cannot be influenced by anyone. .
