A Risk Of Spreading A Fungus In A Section of Katapath Pawura
There's a risk of spreading a variety of fungus in a
section of the "Katapath Pawura"(Mirror Wall) attached to the historical Sigiriya Rock according to the local researchers involved in conservation activities in Sigiriya.
Accordingly the Chemical conservationists attached to the Archeology Department and researchers attached to the Kelaniya University had begun conservation activities of the Katapath Pawura to avoid spreading of the fungus.
The subject minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam was already informed on this by the researchers and Minister has said that if the service of a foreign expert needed for the ongoing conservation activities in Katapath Pawura he will take an action to bring an expert from a foreign country .

Final Rites Of The Late Bellanwila Thero To Be Performed With Full State Honours
The final rites of the Chief Incumbent of Bellanwila
Rajamaha Temple late Professor Venerable Bellanwila Wimalaratne Thero who had passed away due to an Elephant attack ,scheduled to be performed at Sri Jayawardanapura University grounds in Nugegoda with full state honours on Thursday (08).
President Maithripala Srisena has today paid his last respect to the late 75 year old Thero at the Bellanwila Temple.
A large crowd had paid their last respect to the Thero since yesterday.

Owner And CEO Of Perpetual Treasuries Have Been Remanded until Tomorrow (05)
The Colombo Fort Magistrate Court has this evening
(04)ordered to remand the Owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius and the Chief Executive Officer of it Kasun Palisena who were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today over their involvement in Central Bank Bond scam, until tomorrow (05).
The court order was made after the two suspects were produced before the court.

Two Females Were Killed Due To A Three Wheeler-Train Collision
Two females were killed and two males were critically
injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in colliding with a Train travelling from Negambo to Colombo at Eriyagahalinda Railway crossing last night (03).
The four critically injured were admitted to the Negambo Hospital for treatment where the two females had succumbed to their injuries after admission.
The two injured males later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.

Weerathunge who is also a suspect of the controversial MIG Aircraft Deal was arrested today (04)by the authorities at Dubai International Airport while travelling to USA it has been reported.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had issued an order to the Land Registrars in Colombo and Attanagalla by banning the selling and transfering of the lands belongs to the Udayanga Weerathunge in Colombo and Gampaha due to his involvement in the controversial MIG deal during previous regime.
An international Police arrest warrent was also issued to arrest the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia .

investigating the Central Band Bond Scam had today (04)arrested the owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius and the Chief Executive Officer of the Limited Kasun Palisena over their involvement on the scam.
The two accused of the Central Bank Bond Scam were arrested by the CID Officers at their homes in Colombo after the Colombo Fort Magistrate has last week named them as chief suspects of the Bond Scam.Accordingly Arjun Aloysius was arrested at his home in Flower Road ,Colpetty and Palisena was arrested at his home in Wellawatte.
The two were brought to the CID Headquarters in Colombo for questioning.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has also ordered the CID to send notice to the former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran who is also the father in law of Arjun Aloysius through Singaporean International Police to appear before CID before 15th of February .
The former Central Bank Governor Mahendren who is also a suspect of Bond Scam case is currently lives in Singapore.
