Kelanthissa Power Plant Had Shut Down For Six Weeks

 Due to the maintainance work of the Gas and Steam turbine ,The Kelanithissa Power plant will be shutdown for a six week period according to the Engineering Department of the  Ceylon Electricity Board.

As a result the National Grid will loose 165 Mega watts of power it has been revealed.

Meanwhile the second Generator of the Lakwijaya Thermal Power Plant in Norochcholai is also need to be shutdown due to a,sudden breakdown of the high preassure heater system the Electricity board had stated.The Generator is expected to connect in   five days it has been stated.

President Declared Electricity And Petroleum As Essential Services

President Ranil Wikramasinghe has declared Electricity and Petroleum as an essential services  it has been announced.

Accordingly a  Gazette extraordinary has been   issued by the Presidential secretariet in this regard.
