Government To Provide A Let an Scheme For Every Family During Festive Season

 Government has decided to provide loans for every family at low interest rate  to cater to the needs in the forthcoming Christmas and New year festive season according to the President's Media Division .

Accordingly both state and private sector employees  as well as daily wage earner's ,Pensioners and Samurdhi beneficiaries who have a bank account in a Bank   are entitled for this loan which need to repay within 10 months time at 0.625 interest rate .

Peoples bank ,Bank Of Ceylon National savings bank ,Provincial development ban and Samurdhi Bank will be provided loans according to Presidents media  

Accordingly those employees with Rs.50,000 monthly salary can get a loan worth RS.50,000 ,Those who earn a salary between Rs.25,000 -50,000 can apply for Rs.25,000 loan and those who earn a salary Below Rs.25,000 can get a loan of RS.10,000 the Media unit has stated .

Areas In Three Cities And A District Have Been Isolated

 Three areas each in Akkaraipattu ,Addalachchenai and Alyadivembu cities and and Alupotha area at Monaragala District had been isolated with effect from 6 a.m this morning (17) the National Covid -19 Prevention Center has announced .

These area are being isolated as a result of surge in Corona cases the center has stated .

Alupotha area in Monaragala has been declared as an isolated area by the center last Tuesday along with thotawatte area in Psndaura ,However the authorities have not implemented the isolation process. It has been revealed. 

Thotawatte area has been isolated last evening by the Police 24 hours after the announcement made by Covid -19 prevention center regarding the isolation .

611 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (16)

 A total of 611 Corona Positives had been reported in the Country yesterday (16),Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 34,737 according to Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly All the Corona Positives reported yesterday were close contacts of Minuwangoda ,Paliyagoda and Prisons corona clusters according to the unit .

Now 31,070 Corona positives had been reported from these clusters Epidemeology Unit has said .

At the moment 8925 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers .

Six Corona Deaths. Had Been Reported Today (16)

 Six Corona deaths had been reported today (16)in the country increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 160 according to the Epidemeology Unit. 

Accordingly  Six Corona deaths including three males and three females resided in Colombo -14(02) , Colombo -15,kolonnawA ,Bandaragama and Colombo -09 had been reported today the unit has stated .

The deceased were of the ages 43,50,78,60,85 and 84 years it has been Revealed .The 85 year old  corona positive who was Resident at Bandaragama had died at home according to sources .
