A Businessman Was Shot And Killed At Galewala

crime scene සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලAn unidentified gunman had shot and killed a 34 year old businessman at Dandubandiroopa area in Galewala (Central Province)this morning (21) while he was on the way to his farm situated near his house it has been reported.

The killer was not yet been identified.Galewala Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Seven Persons Arrested With Kerala Cannabis-DIG Was Transferred After The Arrests

Kahathuduwa Police have yesterday (20) arrested
seven persons including a son of a Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) and a son of a famous local artist with a stock of Kerala Cannabis in their possession.

However soon after the arrests ,the OIC of the Kahathuduwa Police check point has been transferred with immediate effect it has been reported.It is believed that the transfer orders came after the arrest of DIG's son in connection with keeping Kerala Cannabis in his possession.

Health Minister Suggested To Increase The Age Limit Of Children Admitted To Ridgway Children's Hospital To Sixteen

Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine
Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has suggested the Collage Of Pediatricians to increase the age limit of children admitted to Sri Lanka's premier children's hospital, Lady Ridgway Children's Hospital in Borella (Colombo) to 16 years according to the Ministry Of Health.

At present only children under the age of 14 years are  being admitted to the Children's Hospital for treatment.

A Pharmacy Owner In Rawathawatte Has Been Further Remanded Over Selling Illegal Drugs Until 03rd Of January

Moratuwa(Colombo) Magistrate has today (20) further remanded the pharmacy owner at
Rawatawatte,Moratuwa who was remanded over issuing of illegal drugs and drugs without  a doctor's prescription to patients ,until 03rd of January 2017.

A piscal court order has also issued as per the request of food and drug inspectors attached to Independant Drug Regulatory Authority to seal the suspect's pharmacy at Rawatawatte tomorrow (21).

The food and drug inspectors have arrested a large stock of psychotopic drugs including "Tramadol", physicians drug samples and expired drugs from the pharmacy during the raid caried out last Thursday.

Bribery Commission Officials Have Arrested A Technical Officer While Accepting Rs.25,000 As A Bribe

Bribery Commission officials have arrested a technical
officer attached to Beruwala Pradeshiya Sabha while accepting  a Rs.25,000 from a Businessman as a bribe at the Payagala Pradeshiya Sabha sub office today  (20).

The suspected technical officer has requested the bribe from a businessman to provide recommendations for the enviornmental protection licence essential for the timber mill and a hotel owned by the businessman it has been revealed.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Kaluthara Magistrate Court.

Police Have Arrested Three Persons Along With A Stock Of Explosives In Vavuniya

ARRESTED සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලVavuniya Police have today(20) arrested three persons with a stock of unlicensed Explosives brought from Madawachchiya(North Central Province) area to sell fishermen in their possession at Vavuniya(Northern Province).

Two hundred cap rolls and 200 gelignite sticks  are among the stock of explosives arrested in possession of the suspects according to Police.The stock of Explosives had been transported to Vavuniya from Madawachchiya by a Three Wheeler Police have stated.

Police Have Seized A High Powered "Ducati" Motor Cycle Smuggled To Sri Lanka By A Politician's Son In Colombo

ducati motor cycle සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලPolice have today(20) seized  a high powered Motor Cycle worth over Rs.4 million which smuggled in to the country by a son of  a powerful politician during the previous regime and arrested a person who  believed to be current owner of the Motor Cycle.

Accordingly Colombo Central Divisional Environment Law Enforcement Unit has seized a room at Silversmith Lane in Abdul Hameed street.Keselwatta (Colombo )where the secret hideout is  and seized black colored ,Italian made  high tech "Ducati" Motor Cycle belonging to the former Politician's son parked inside the room.

The suspect who was arrested along with the Motor Cycle has stated the Police that one of his friend's given  the expensive Motor Cycle to him as a gift.The High Tech Motor Cycle  cannot be legally ridden on Sri Lankan roads as it's engine capacity is above the legal limit.

The Ducati Motor Cycle was imported to Sri Lanka with the knowledge of Sri Lanka customs ,but it's not registered in Motor Traffic Department according to the Police.

The suspect who was arrested with the Motor Cycle had been remanded after been produced before the Maligakande Magistrate Court. 

Postal Services In The Country Disrupted Due To The Postal Strike

 The Allied Postal Trade Unions Front has launched this strike by demanding solutions for seven of the service demands of Postal Workers  and the strike will continue until midnight tomorrow(21) it has been announced.

The Post Master General has yesterday (19) cancelled the leave of all Postal Workers for 48 hour period.
