Parliamentary Committee Has Decided To Increase Allowances Of Parliamentarians?
A Parliamentary Committee which met recently has decided to increase the allowances offered to Parliamentarians it has been reported.
Accordingly the allowances including Telephone Allowance,and Attendance Allowance will be increased the reports have said.
However recently the Government has denied the reports on increasing allowances and salaries of Parliamentarians.

South Korea Has Agreed To Increase The Number Of Sri Lankans Recruiting For Jobs In South Korea
The South Korean Government has accepted Sri Lanka's request to increase the number of Sri Lankans recruiting Job Opportunities in South Korea.
The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Minister Of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare who are currently visiting South Korea have made a request to increase the number of Sri Lankans recruiting for employment in South Korea from South Korean Foreign Minister and he has accepted the request it has been reported.
The South Korean Foreign Minister has also agreed to uplift the facilities provided to Sri Lankans Workers in South Korea during the talks held with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister and Minister of Foreign Employment.
More than 42,000 Sri Lankans are currently working in South Korea it has been reported.

Rathgama Police Have Arrested A Man Who Attempted To Rape A 9 Year Old Girl In Bussa
Rathgama Police(In Southern Province) have yesterday(12) arrested a 40 year old man who attempted to rape a 9 year old girl at Bussa in Galle District.
The girl who manged to escape from the man had complained on the incident to her parents and as a result the residents of the area have handed over the suspected man to the Rathgama Police.
The suspect is due to be produced before Court and Rathagama Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

A Policeman Was Hospitalized Due To A Group Of Youth Attacked His Head With A Club
A policeman attached to Galle Police Station was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in critical condition due to a group of youth under the influence of alcohol hit his head with a club at a Wedding Reception early morning yesterday(12).
The injured policeman faced this incident after he along with three other policemen attached to the Galle Police Station went to a wedding reception after received a complaint on a brawl there.
After the Policemen arrived the Reception a group of youth under the influence of Alcohol had clashed with them and one of the policeman was hit on the head with a club.The suspected youth then attacked the Police Jeep as well according to the Police.
Four Suspects were arrested regarding the attack on Policemen and they are due to be produced before Galle Magistrate Court.
Three Youths Were Arrested With 62 Mili Grammes Of Heroin In Their Possession
Thee Youths including the School Boy who was earlier arrested in the rape and murder case of five year old Seya Sadewmini in Kotadeniyawa were arrested by the Police at Divulapitiya(In Western Province) Area with 62 Mili Grammes Of Heroin in their possession.
The suspects who are residents of Divulapitya,Hunumulla and Badalgama Areas released on bail after being produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate Court.
The case is due to hear again in 15th of March.

Valvitithurai Police Have Found A Parcel Containing 2 Kilo Grammes And 80 Grammes Of Heroin At A Forest Area In Valvitithurai
The Valvitithurai(In Northern Province) Police have today(12) found a parcel containing 2 Kilo Grammes and 80 Grammes of Heroin hidden in a forest area at Thondamanaru in Valvitithurai .
The Police suspects the the haul of Heroin which appears to be " Brown Sugar"had been smuggled to the country through sea route.
No arrests have been made in connection with the heroin parcel and the Police are conducting further search operations in the area.

Price Of The Imported Prima Wheat Flour Increased By Rs.7.20 Per Kilo Gramme
The Price of a 1 Kilo Gramme of Imported Prima Wheat Flour has been increased by Rs.7.20 with effect from today(12).
The price increase is a result of the increasing of Import Levy on Wheat Grain it has been reported.
Accordingly the Price of Prima Wheat Flour has been increased from Rs.90 to Rs.97.20.
