Around 42 Sri Lankan Fake Currency Notes Have Been Recovered In A Lorry

Thambuttegama Police have recovered 42 Sri Lankan  fake currency notes of Rs.500 in a Lorry parked at a Garage at Thambuttegama area .

The fake Currancy notes had concealed in a Bag hanged in  the lower part of the lorry which parked at the Garage for tenovation work

An 18 Year Old Youth Was Killed Due To A Bus Accident

An 18 year old youth was killed after stucked between a footboard of a bus he was travelling and a tree while the bus was reveresed back by the driver last night(26) at Galkiriyagama in Dambulla-Kurunagala main road .

The critically injured youth had succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Galewela Hospital.

The incident occurred when the Bus was reversed back by the driver after stopping for tea at a Canteen in Galkiriyagama area.The deceased was a resident of Batticaloa District it has been revealed.

Police have arrested the Bus driver regarding the incident.

A Three And Half Year Old Child Has Died After Falling In To A Pond

A three and half year old small child has died after falling in to a Small pond with ornamental fish while attempting to take water to a small bucket ,at Nigrodharamaya Temple in Kokwatta ,Habaraduwa last evening(26).

The child  has died after fallen to a three and half feet deep pond it has been revealed.

He was a resident of Wanchawala in Aththaragoda area and had faced this incident after arriving to see the Chief Incumbent of the Temple who is a relative of his according to reports.

A Fire Erupted In A Reserve At Wellawaya Destroyed A Large Land Area

More than ten acres of land belongs to the Kotikanbokka reserve in Wellawaya area (Uva Province)have been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in the reserve this morning(27)according to reports.

The fire which believes to be lit by a person is currently spreading rapidly throughout the reserve it has been reported.

A large number of rare varieties of Trees including medicinal plants have been destroyed due to the fire .

A Doctor And An Attendant Were Injured Due To Ambulance-Cab Collision

A Doctor and an Attendant have been injured and hospitalized after the Ambulance they were travelling in  accompanying a patient in critical condition to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital ,colliding with a Cab belongs to the Sri Lanka Naval Base in Welisara at Boralesgamuwa early this morning (27).

The patient in the Ambulance was taken to the Kalubowila Hospital by another Ambulance it has been revealed.

Residents of the area have captured the driver of the Cab who was under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident while atempting to flee from the scene and handed over him to the Police.

However the Cab driver was released on bail after producing before court it has been reported.

The accident occurred when the Cab was driven by the driver without consideting signal lights according to reports.

Three Persons Were Injured Due To The Fall Of A Bo Tree

Three persons have been injured and two line houses were damaged due to a fall of a Bo Tree located in front of a Hindu kovil at Galewatta area belongs to the  Rubber Research Institute in Agalawatta  as a result of a strong wind blown across the area last evening(26).

Due to the fallen Bo Tree electricity supply lines in the area were damaaged and there's a power cut prevailing in the area due to this it has been reported.


A Female Motorccyclist And Her Son Were Critically Injured Due To A Motorcycle-Bus Collision

A 38 year old female Motorcyclist and her 5 year old son have been critically injured and hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were travelling colliding with a Bus travelling from Wellawaya to Monaragala at Warunagama in Wellawaya-Monaragala road today(27).

The injured have been admitted to the Monaragala General Hospital for treatment.

The injured are residents of Weerasekaragama in Wellawaya and had faced the incident while travelling in the same direction as the Bus .

Wellawaya Police have arrested the Bus driver regarding the incident.
