Around 500-1000 Private Pharmacies That Running Throughout The Island Are Not Having A Single Pharmacist-Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Trade Forum
Around 3500 Private Pharmacies Are currently functioning throughout the island and out of them around 500- 1000 Pharmacies are running without a single Pharmacist according to Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Trade Forum.
Addressing a Press Briefing held yesterday(21) at Sri Lanka Press Institute in Narahenpita(In Colombo District) the office bearers of the Forum has stated Government should have taken steps to recruit qualified Pharmacists for these Private Pharmacies running without a single pharmacist in view of providing a good service for Patients.
The Office Bearers of the Pharmaceutical Trade Forum has appealed their members not to accept Drugs which are having a shell life less then Two Years .How Ever under the new National Drug Regulatory Authority Act there's a provision stating Pharmacists can accept Drugs having shell life of around one and half years.

United Nations Assistant Secretary General For Political Affairs Has Arrived Sri Lanka For A Four Day Visit
The United Nations Assistant Secretary General For Political Affairs Miroslav Jenca has arrived Sri Lanka yesterday(21) for a four day official visit.

The new heads and members of three Independent Commissions have been appointed today(21).Accordingly Professor Siri Hettige ,Dharmasena Dissanayake and Dr.Deepika Udagama have been appointed as heads of Police ,Public Services and Human Rights Commissions respectively.

Three Suspects With 111 Grammes Of Heroin in Their Possession Have Been Arrested From Colombo
The Police have yesterday (20) evening arrested three persons including a younger sister of Drug Kingpin Samantha Kumara alias "Wele Suda" for the possession of 111 Grammes and 540 Mili Grammes of Heroin worth around Rs.1.7 million.
These persons were arrested from different locations in Borella(In Colombo District) with different quantities of Heroin according to Police.
The Drug Kingpin "Wele Suda' was sentenced to death recently for possession of 7.05 Grammes of Heroin.

Gampaha Magistrate Has Released Former Suspect Of Five Year Old Girl's Murder From His Previous Cases
The Gampaha Magistrate has today(21) released the former suspect of rape and murder case of five year old seya sadewmini in Kotadeniyawa Area Dunesh Priyashantha alias "Kondaya" from previous cases filed against him.
The said suspect was earlier released by Minuwangoda Magistrate from the murder case of Kotadeniyawa girl as the DNA Samples of the supect was not matched the DNA Samples found from girl's body.
However Kondaya was further remanded due to the previous cases filed against him at Gampaha and Attanagalla(In Western Province) Magistrate Courts are pending at that time.
