A 24 year Old Sri Lankan Expelled From Australia Was Arrested At Katunayake Airport
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers
attached Katunayake Airport had today (17)arrested a 24 year old Sri Lankan who was expelled to the Sri Lanka by Australian authorities after went there illegally by a boat.
The 24 year old who was arested upon his arrival to the country had illegally migrated to Australia by a boat in 2012 along with another 44 persons it has been reported.
The arrested youth was remanded until 20th of February after been produced before the Miniwangoda Magistrate Court.

Three Iranian War Ships Arrived In Colombo Harbour
Three Iranian War ships belonging to the Iranian Navy
had arrived in Colombo Harbour for a four day goodwill visit.
During their stay in Sri Lanka the crews of these war ships are due to participate programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy including of cultural events and goodwill sports events.

Two Persons Arrested Over Illegally Transporting Buffaloes
Police have arrested two persons over illegally
transporting 14 buffaloes and taken in to custody the lorry used to transport them in Wellawaya area.
The suspects have obtained an illegal licence from Wellawaya vetiranary office by providing false information to transport Buffaloes it has been revealed.
The suspects are residents of Akkareipattu and Pugoda areas.

A Female Was Killed After Colliding With A Bus In Kegalle
Police have arrested a Sri Lanka Transport Board Bus
driver after a 68 year old female was killed due to colliding with the Bus he was driving in ,on the pedestal crossing at Karandupana Junction in Kegalle this morning (17).
The female was collided with Bus travelling from Gampola to Colombo while crossing the road it has been revealed.The deceased was a resident of Aranayake area.

Fourty Five Narcotic Pills Have Been Removed From The Stomach Of A Brazilian National
Airport customs had arrested a Brazilian National who
had arrived in Katunayake Bandarnaike International Airport after swallowing narcotic pills susspected as Cocaine yesterday (16).
Around 45 narcotic pills swallowed have been removed from his stomach after admitting him to the Negambo Base Hospital.
The suspect had arrived in Sri Lanka via Doha ,Qatar according to reporrs.

A 28 year old female has died after falling down to
ground while attempting to board a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus as a result of starting the Bus near the Padeniya Bus stand in Wariyapola area today (17).
The deceased was a resident of Weeragahamula in Padeniya area.
Padeniya Police have arrested the Bus Driver regarding the incident.
