Two Pakistani Nationals Arrested Over Staying In Sri Lanka Without Visas

Colpetty police have today (09)arrested two pakistani
nationals staying in the country without valid visas in Colpetty area(Colombo).

The two suspects are due to be produced before the Colombo fort magistrate today (09).

Heavy Showers To Continue From Today In Several Areas

As heavy showers predicted from today (09) to the
Western,Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces as well as for some places in Matara and Galle  by the Meteorology Department ,Authorities have advised the people living around main rivers and low land areas of those provinces and cities to be vigilant on rising water levels of the rivers.

Due to showers prevailing in the water levels of Attanagalu Oya and Kelani River too are on the rise and the sluice gates of Kukule River in kalutara kept open according to the Irrigation Department.

CID To Question Arjun Aloysius Until Sunday Over The Cenral Bank Bond Scam

The presidential Commission of inquiry investigating
the controversial central bank bond scam  yesterday(08) announced the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) will be questioned the main suspect of the scam Arjun Aloysius who is the director of perpetual treasuries limited for two days  both today (Saturday)and tomorrow (Sunday).

CID Officers had questioned the Arjun Aloysius for ten hours yesterday (Friday)over the bond scam issue.

Presidential Commission Of Inquiry wanted to testify Aloysius after the questioning of CID  . As his lawyer  presidents counsal Anuja Premaratne objected on the Commission testifying Aloysius aferwards  the Commission has informed Aloysius that he should submit what he has to say in an affidavit and submit it to the commission.

Thereafter the Commission will testify him it has been announced.

Wilpaththu National Wild life Park To Be Re-Opened Today (09)

Wilpaththu national wild life park which closed for
little more than one  month due to the drought situation prevailed in the area will be re-opened today (09)for public.


The wild life park had been closed for local and foreign tourists on 01st of August .However due to the heavy showers prevailing in the area since weeks the dried ponds of the park filled up with water and park is return to it's normal status again according to authorities.

Six Persons Injured And Hopsitalized Due To A Road Accident

Six persons have been injured and hospitalized after a lorry they were traveling in veering off the road in Thannekumbura area at Passara.

The injured were admitted to the Passara and Badulla Hospitals for treatment.

The lorry was transporting a Generator at the time of the accident and the lorry veering off the road as the driver not able to control the speed of the vehicle it has been revealed.

Sivali Grounds In Rathnapura Is Being Submerged Due To The Overflowing Of Kalu River

Authorities have already advised the people living in lands around the river and low lands near the river to be vigilant on possible floods if the water level of the Kalu Ganga keep on rising.

The water level of the river had arisen five meters during during a four hour period this morning according to the officials.By this morning the water level of the river stands as 7 meters and the spill  level is 7.5 meters.

Imprisoned Lalith Weerathunge And Anusha Palpita Were Transferred To The Welikada Prison Hospital

Image result for welikada prison hospitalThe two accused former President's Secretary Lalith Weerathunge and Anusha Palpita  who have been sentenced a 3 year rigorous imprisonment yesterday (08) by the Colombo High Court over distributing white cloths(Sol Redhi) among Buddhist devotees during the presidential elections held under  previous regime ,were transferred  to Welikada Prison Hospital this morning(08)under the advise of a doctor in charge there it has been reported.

A lady doctor in Welikada prison had awaited till bringing the two accused to the Welikada Prison yesterday to name them as severe Diabetic patients and transfer  them  to the Prison Hospital it has been  revealed.

The same doctor had earlier sent former UPFA MP Sarana Gunawaardana to the Prison Hospital from the Welikada Prison.

Around Rs.600 million belonging to the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission  had been utilized to purchase white cloths to distribute among Buddhist devotees by the two accused sources said.
