Budget Proposal On Price Reduction Of Beer Might Be Changed -Health Minister

The Budget Proposal suggesting the price reduction of Beer might be changed according to the Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne stating that by  reducing the Price of Beer no country in the world able to reduce the consumption of strong liquors .

Addressing the Cabinet Press Briefing held yesterday(22) at the Government Information Department Auditorium in Narahenpita ,Minister Senaratne who is also the Cabinet Co-Spokesman has stated that through the price reduction of Beer the consumption of it among youth males and females will be increased.

Through the 2018 Budget Proposals Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera had  announced  a Rs.100 price reduction of a Beer Can.

A Person Was Arrested With A Haul Of Three Varieties Of Narcotics

Image result for arrestedThe Police Officers attached to the Central Law Enforcement Unit in Colombo had arrested a 41 year old  resident of Dematagoda area  with a haul of Narcotics including world's most powerful Narcotic "Ice","Cocaine" and " Hashish"(Hash) in his possession at Gospal Road in Dematagoda last night(22).

During the raid Police Officers had taken into custody 45.7 Grammes of "Ice" Narcotic,5.56 Grammes of "Cocaine" and 47.89 Grammes of "Hashish in his possession .

The suspect is due to produce before the Court today(23).

A Bus Driver Had Been Injured Due To A Petrol Bomb Attack

Image result for injuredA Bus driver had been seriously injured with serious burn injuries and hospitalized due to a Petrol Bomb thrown towards the Bus traveling from Monaragala to Colombo at Pallebadde area in Godakawela area this morning(23).

The injured Driver was admitted to the Godakawela Base Hospital  and later transferred to the Embilipitiya Hospital for further treatment.

Police believed that  the Petrol Bomb attack may be a result of a personal dispute.




A Long Water Cut To Be Imposed In Several Areas In Colombo On Saturday

Due to an essential repair work of the Ambathale
water purification center a day long water cut will be imposed in several areas of Colombo from 8 a.m on Saturday (25) to 2 a.m on Sunday (26) according to the National Water Supplies and Drainage Board.

Accordingly the water cut will be imposed in Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia ,Kotte-Sri Jaya wardanapura,Kaduwela,Boralesgamuwa,
Maharagama,Kolonnawa,Mulleriyawa,Kotikawatte,Mulleriyawa,Soyza flats and Ratmalana areas.

A Suicide Attempt Of A Person In Police Custody Had Been Prevented

Police officers had prevented a person who was in

Police custody from committing suicide when he attempted to hanging himself inside the prison cell of Divulapitiya Police this morning (22).After preventing the suicide attempt the suspect had been admitted to the Gampaha Hospital for treatment.

The suspect was arrested by the Police as per an arrest warrent.

Due to the incident a Police constable attached to Divulapitiya Police has been interdicted and a Sargent was transferred to another Police station it has been reported.

A 69 Year Old Person Was Killed While Bathing In Makulfalls

A 69 year old person had drowned and killed while

bathing in Makul Falls(Ella) in Bandarawela, pathana area .

The deceased had been identified as a resident of Cragwatte,Bandarawela Bandarawela Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

Two Members Of "Ava" Group Had Been Arrested In Jaffna

Two members of the Jaffna based sword underworld gang "Ava" Group had been arrested by the Police and Special Police Task Force personal during a joint raid carried out in Kopai,Jaffna area early hours of this Morning(22).

The suspects who are residents of Kopai ,Jaffna had been arrested over violent activities they have engaged in the area  it has been revealed.

President Sirisena To Leave South Korea For An Official Visit

President Maithripala Sirisena is due to leave South Korea on 28th of November for a three day offcial visit it has been announced.

President Sirisena visits South Korea as per an invitation made by the South Korean President Moon Jae In to mark the 40th anniversary of the bi lateral relationships between Sri Lanka and South Korea.

During the visit President is due to hold bi lateral talks with his South Korean counterpart Monn Jae In and other leaders of the government and due to sign several mutual agreements related to  cultural and economic corporation with Korea.

A Person Was Arrested With Two Kilo Grammes Of Heroin

The officials attached to the Anti Narcotic Division of the Excise Department had last night(21) arrested  a 39 year old person with a around two Kilo Grammes of  Heroin at the Karuppan sea coast in Chilaw.

The haul of Heroin is believed to be imported from India and worth around Rs.20 million according to the Excise Department.

The arrested suspect who is a resident of Chilaw area is due to be produced before the Chilaw Magistrate Court.
