President Has Prorouged The Parliament

President Maithripala Sirisena had
prorouged the Parliament with effect from midnight tonight(12) through a special gazette notification .

The next session of Parliament scheduled to be commenced on 08th of May.

Three Persons Were Arrested With 17,000 KG Of Waste Tea

The special task force personal in
Kegalle had arrested three persons while transporting around 17,000 Kilo Grammes of Waste Tea from.three lorries in pretext of transporting export quality Tea at Kegalle this morning(12).

Police have also taken in to custody the three lorries used by the suspects to transport Waste Tea and the stock of Waste Tea arrested have been handed over to the Sri Lanka Tea Board for testing.

The three suspects are due to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate Court.

Four Temporary Cabinet Ministers Had Appointed

President Maithripala Sirisena has
today (12) appointed four new Cabinet Ministers temporarily to the Ministerial Portfolios held by six Sri Lanka Freedom.Party(SLFP) MP's who had resigned from their portfolios yesterday(11).

Accordingly Fauzar Mustapha has been appointed as the Minister of Sports held by Dayasiri Jayasekare,Dr.Sarath Amunugama was appointed as the Minister of Skill Development /Vocational Training and Scoence,Technology and Research held by Chandoma Weerakkody and Susil Premjayantha .Ranjith Siyambalapitiya was appointed as the Minister of Disaster Management held by Anura Proyadarshana Yapa and Malik Samarawikrama of United National Party has been appointed as the Minister of Labor and Social Empowerment held by SLFP MP's W.D.J Seneviratne and S.B Dissanayake.

These Ministers had sworn in before the President at Presidential Secretariat today and they are temporary appointments according to the Presidents Media Division .

A full cabinet reshuffle will be taken place after Sinhala/Hindu New Year the Division has stated.

Meanwhile a group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)MP's who avoid voting at the no confidence motion presented against Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe had met with President and Prime Minister yeaterday(11) it has been revealed.

During the meeting with president Sirisena the SLFP Group had pledged that they will stay with the National Government further.

Sri Lanka Customs Had Opened The Container Illegally Imported From India Contains Banned Pesticide "Glyphosate"

Sri Lanka Customs have today(12)
Opened the Container
 which contains 10,800 Kilo Grammes of banned pesticide "Glyphosate" at Orugodawatte Container Yard.

The container was taken under the custody of Customs on 07th of April and the stock of Glyphosate had been imported illegally from India on the pretext of importing 20,000 Kilo Grammes of "Dolamite" according to customs.

Customs officers had launched a search operation to arrest the importer of the container who is a resident of Kekirawa area and in hiding these days.

Water In Kalu River Reached Spill Level At Kalutara

The water in Kalu Ganga(River)has
reached spill level at Millakanda ,Kalutara area due to the heavy showers prevailing in according to the Disaster Management Center.

Due to this situation the Center has requested the people living in  low land areas around the river to be vigilant over overflowing of tiver.

An Indian Female Was Arrested With A Stock Of "Ice" Narcotic

An Indian female was arrested with 212 grammes of "Ice"Narcotic by the Police Narcotic Bureau officials at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport today(12).

The suspected female had brought the stock of "Ice"  narcotic to Sri Lanka from India  by  concealed it in her luggage .

She is due to be produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate Court.

Three Persons Were Arrested While Smuggling 242 Gold Biscuits To India

Image result for gold biscuitsThree Sri Lankans have been arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy this morning(12) in Thalaimannar Sea belt in Northern Sri Lanka while transporting 242 Gold Biscuits weighing  100 Grammes each from a Boat to India .

The estimated value of the Gold Biscuits  taken in to custody in possession of the suspects is around Rs.170 million the Navy have stated.

The three suspects were handed over to the Jaffna Magistrate Court for legal activities.

Former LAK SATHOSA Chairman Has Been Released On Bail

Image result for nalin ruwanjeewa fernandoThe former Chairman of the Lanka Sathosa Limited  Nalin Ruwanjeewa Fernando  who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) over misusing of Rs.39 million worth state funds during previous regime to purchase Carom and Darts Boards Has been released on bail today (12) by the Colombo Fort Magistrate .

Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had ordered the suspect to release on two personal bails of Rs.300,000 each and a cash  bail of Rs.25,000.

Colombo Fort Magistrate had also imposed a foreign tour ban on the suspect and ordered the authorities to take his passport under court custody.The Magistrate also said that the charges filed against the former Lak SATHOSA Chairman not belongs to the public property act.

Two Chief Suspects Of Central Bank Bond Scam Have Been Further Remanded

The imprisoned Chief Suspects of the Central Bank Bond Scam Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena of Perpetual Treasuries Limited have been further remanded until 26th of April by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today(12).

The two suspects have been further remanded after being produced before the Magistrate.The Magistrate has also granted permission to the wife  of one of  the suspects the Chief Executive Officer of the Perpetual Treasuries Kasun Palisena to take a signature of Palisena  for a two checks to get money from a Private Bank account owned by him

Meanwhile the revised bail application filed by the suspects in Court Of Appeal by seeking bail is due to be considered on 18th of May it has been announced.

E Health Card To Be Issued To 21 Million Sri Lankans By The Year 2020

Image result for e health cardThe E -Health Card which includes the health information of a person ,introduced to Sri Lanka on Last Saturday(07) will be issued to the Sri Lankan population of 21 million by the year 2020 according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

The E Health Card includes the Health Information and the Blood Type of a person and will be helpful during the patient treatment activities the Minister has stated.

The Card has been officially launched in Sri Lanka during the World Health Day Ceremony held at the Nelum Pokuna Theater in Colombo last Saturday.
