Police fired tear gas this noon to disperse a group of protestors protested out side the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium by blocking the main road demanding they should be allowed to enter the Cricket Stadium to view the fourth one day international Cricket Match between Sri Lanka and Australia although the organizers had announced the Tickets for the match had sold out.
Accordingly some in the group of protesting cricket fans were hooting and damaging the boards at the stadium by demanding that they should be allowed to enter the grounds to view the day night match.
However Australia managed to wrap up the one day international match series currently on against Sri Lanka today by winning the match with one game remaining to play.
The third one day international cricket match between Sri Lanka and Australia which played at the Dambulla Cricket Stadium on Sunday attended by 45,000 spectators although the ground has a capacity to hold only 18,000 spectators it has been reported.
