The Police Teams have yesterday(26) excavated a block of land at Attanayala in Weeraketiya Area(In Southern Province) which belonging to wife of Major Neville Wanniarachchi who was the Chief Security Officer of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe for the purpose of recovering Currency and Gold suspected to be buried at the property.The excavations were carried out by under the special security of Police Special Task Force Personal and Police Officers in yesterday morning according to the sources.
The excavations were carried out according to the court order issued to the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division.However no currency or gold buried at the property has found during the excavations the Police have revealed.
Two big holes were dug up at the block of land belonging to the wife of former president Rajapakshe's chief security officer situated near a cemetery according to Police.The digged land had used for Coconut Cultivation it has been revealed.
