The Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB) has today(26) requested the public to use Electricity sparingly by switching off non essential electrical equipment daily from 6.30 p.m to 10.30 p.m untill the Norochchali Coal Power Plant becomes fully operational.The sudden island wide power failure occurred yesterday(25) has caused a breakdown in Norochhalai Power Plant according to the Electricity Board.
A possible lightning strike on a transmission line between polpitiya and kolonnawa has caused the sudden power failure the Board has revealed.
