Police Have Detained A Man Who Pelted Stones At A Bus On Galle-Udugama Road

Image result for sri lanka transport boardThe Galle Police have detained a man who had pelted stones at Sri Lanka Transport Board (LANGAMA)Bus on  Galle-Udugama Road yesterday (16 ).

The detainee had pelted stones at the Bus in Dangedarsa ,Galle area following an argument he had with the Driver of the Bus.

Galle Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.

Chinese Company CHEC To Recommence The Reclamation Work Of Colombo International Financial City Project In October

The reclamation work of the Colombo International Financial City(Formally Colombo Port City) Project will be recommenced in October according to the Chinese Company handling the project CHEC Port City Colombo.

Sri Lankan Government has signed a tripartite agreement with the CHEC on 12th of August for the Colombo International Financial City by replacing the agreement signed during the previous government.Under the agreement the CHEC Company has issued a written letter stating the withdrawal of all compensation claims from the government for delaying the project.

President Has Extended The Service Of Army Commander Chrishantha De Silva

President Maithripala Sirisena has today (16) extended the service of Army Commander Lieutenant General Chrishantha De Silva who is due to retire, for one year period with effect from 22nd of August it has been reported.

Lieutenant General Chrishantha De Silva who is the 21st Army Commander in Sri Lanka had been appointed to that position  by the President on February 2015.

He has also served as a commander in  chief of the Volunteer Force.

Sri Lanka Navy Had Detained 18 Sri Lankans Who Were Sailing Towards Australia Illegally

Sri Lanka Navy Personal had today (16) detained 18 Sri Lankans who were on  board of a deep sea fishing trawler which sailing towards  Australia illegally  at the  seas of eastern Batticaloa.

The detainees had boarded the trawler at Valachchena Area it has been revealed.

The Navy Personal had brought back the 18 detainees  to Trincomalee Harbor and handed them over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations on the incident.

Bribery Commission Had Filed A Case Against Former UPFA MP Sajin Vaas At Colombo Magistrate Court

Image result for sajin vass gunawardenaThe Bribery Commission had today (16) filed a case against the former  United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardane at Colombo Magistrate Court over the charges of making  Mihin Lanka Air Lines to pay Rs.883 million for illegal supply of ground equipment made by a Singaporean Company.

The former MP Sajin Vaas was charged by the Bribery Commission for illegally made a contract with a Singaporean Company to supply ground support equipment to Mihin Lanka Air Lines and making the Air Lines to pay the money for the supplier.

By considering these facts the magistrate court has today ordered the former MP to appear before court on 20th of August.
