Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has decided to get an opinion of the Attorney General regarding removing a large number of Massage Centers (SPA) maintained in the island by showing fraudulent documents .Health Minister has taken this decision after the Provincial Ayurveda Commissioners had shown him that a large number of such fake Massage Centers are being maintained in provincial areas illegally .Health Minister has stated that he is seeking an opinion from the Attorney General to pass a law on removing illegal Massage Centers located in the Island.
A large number of Provincial Ayurveda Commissioners had shown the Health Minister during the Provincial Indigenous Medicine Ministers Summit held at the National Blood Center in Narahenpita today (04) that around 300 such Illegal Massage Centers are currently being located within Maharagama Urban Council limits of the Western Province however only four Massage Centers in the City Limits got permission to carried out activities .
Even Police ,The Maharagama Urban Council and Ayurveda Department have jointly conducted an investigation regarding these Massage Centers last Saturday ,However failed to remove them although they are illegal due to the lack of legal provision available to go for a such action the Ayurveda Commissioners have stated.
