The viral fever which spreading in the Southern Province since last April has been confirmed as a fever caused by Influenza-A Virus according to the Dr.Jude Jayamaha attached to the Medical Research Institute in Borella(Colombo).The viral fever spreading in Southern Province is a Seasonal Influenza Flu and people should not panic over it he has stressed while addressing a Press Briefing held at the office of Director General Of Health Services in the Ministry Of Health this noon(04) regarding the fever.
At present the flu is under control and few deaths have been reported due to complications he has stated.
The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe has stated that all the necessary drugs and equipment have been provided to the Hospitals in south to treat the Influenza Patients and the best way to prevent getting of the flu is avoid crowded places and adapt proper sanitary methods.
