The Graduate Employees Union has conducted a protest campaign in front of Colombo Fort Railway Station yesterday(12) noon with the participation of it's members against removing development work belonging to Graduate Development Officers attached to government institutions.Government has removed the development work of 16,000 Graduate Development Officers and transferred the work to Grama Seva Niladharies (Village Officers) the Graduate Employees Union has accused.
Police have prevented the protesting Graduates from marching towards Presidential Secretariat in Colombo to reveal their grievances to the authorities.
