The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris has today(12) refused granting bail to former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who had detained over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen.The Colombo Additional Magistrate has refused to accept the bail application filed behalf of detained former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police after Government Lawyer has explained that if the former Crimes OIC granted bail it may have pressurized the witnesses of the Thajudeen's Murder Case as currently investigations are underway on several higher rank police officers believed to be linked to the murder.
After considering the proposed facts the Colombo Additional Magistrate has refused granting bail to the former Crimes OIC Of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera and ordered to remand him further until 26th of May.
