The Government has decided to implement a stable legal mechanism within next six weeks in view of creating a safe environment free from violence for girls and women according to the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe's office.In view of making it reality a special ministerial sub committee is due to be appointed to ensure the creation of such a legal frame work Prime Minister's Office has stated through a statement.
Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has personally instructed the authorities to develop the mechanism which activate the proposed action plan of creating a safe environment free from violence for girls and women within next six weeks.Prime Minister has also advised the need of having a monitoring procedure to facilitate the plan.
