Cabinett Has Approved Electricity Fare Hike
Cabinet has approved a Cabinet paper suggesting the increase of Electricity fare by two stages .Accordingly Cabinet has approved a proposal to increase the Electricity fare in January and June .
According to the Ceylon Electricity Board officials to cover up the profit loss of CEB the Electricity fare need to be increased by 70 percent .

A 17-Year-Old Boy Drowned In Aberdeen Waterfall
a 17-year-old boy has drowned and disappeared whilst bathing in Aberdeen Water fall at Norton Bridge (Central Province).
The drowned boy identified as Krishnan Vinushan from Bagawanthalawa area had faced this incident when he along with a group of his friends came to Aberdeen fall to celebrate a birthday party it has been revealed. Ginigtahhena Police along with the residents of the area have launched a search mission in search of the missing boy .
Cabinet Approved The Recommendations Made to Restructure The CEB
Cabinet has today (28) approved the recommendations proposed by the Commitee on restructuring the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) .
Minister Of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare has stated in a Twitter message posted today that the Electricity Reforms Bill will be drafted within a month to begin the unbundling process of CEB and work will progress on a rapid timeline for the necessary approval of Parliament.

Daily Power Cuts To Be Increased By Twenty Minutes
The daily Island Wide power cuts imposed by the Ceylon Electricity Beard(CEB) is due to be increased by 20 minutes with effect from tomorrow(28) according to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
Accordingly two hours and twenty minutes long daily power cut will be implemented in the country tomorrow(28) and the day after(29) by one hour in the noon session and one hour and twenty minutes in night session the Commission has stated .

Two Hour Long Power Cut To Be Continued For Another Four Days
Although the hydro catchment areas have received a sufficient amount of rain during last few weeks the daily two hour island wide power cuts will be continued for another four days according to the Public Utilities Commission .
Accordingly one hour long power cut will be implemented during the noon session and another one hour long power cut will be implemented during the night in 20 zones of the island from 22nd to 25th of November .

Motor Vehicle Registration Fees Increased
All Motor vehicle registration fees have been increased with immediate effect according to the Minister of Transport Bandula Gunawardane .
The Minister had issued an extra ordinary gazette notification announcing the increase with effect from today (19). Minister has increased the Motor vehicle registration fees under section 237 of the Motor traffic Act (Chapter 203).
Accordingly, the annual revenue license fees, fees for first registration of vehicles, fees for delayed first registration, fees for registration of new owner, delayed registration of new owner, fees for issuing a duplicate of a certificate of registration, fees for registration of garages and other miscellaneous fees have been increased.

Four Suspects Were Arrested With A Haul oF Heroin In Possession -Another Six females Were Detained After Stoning Police
Police have arrested four persons in possession of 14 Grammes and 220 Mili Grammes of Heroin and Six females over stoning the Police officers when they had arrested the suspects at a farm in Pubudupura ,Anuradhapura District yesterday (16).
Police have arrested the four suspects in possession of the haul of heroin at a residence in Pubudupura area and at that time six females had stoned the Police officers to prevent them from getting arrested .,A Police officer was injured due to the incident and admitted to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for treatment .
Meanwhile the ten suspects who were arrested by the Police are scheduled to be produced before the Anuradhpaura Magistrate Court ..
