Sri Lanka Navy have arrested Eight local fishermen while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters off Silawathurai by using banned fishing nets and equipment according to the Navy.During the raid carried out by the Navy Officers two banned "surukku"fishing nets ,two dinghi boats and two pairs of diving fins had been taken into custody .
The arrested fishermen and the equipment were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Mannar for further investigations.
