The Colombo-Ratnapura main road had blocked this morning at Ehaliyagoda Town by over one hundrad Tea Estate Workers who had staged a protest by demanding to increase their daily wage from Rs.620 to Rs.1000.A heavy traffic has been reported due to this situation according to the reports.
The Minister of Labour John Deneviratne had yesterday(05) informed the Parliament that the Trade Unions representing Tea Estate Workers had agreed the daily wage increase proposed by the government for the workers from Rs.620 to Rs.730 .
