The Supreme Court has today(15) directed the Bribery Commission to file contempt charges against United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Namal Rajapakshe on or before 03rd of October.The directive has made when the case filed against MP Rajapakshe who is the eldest son of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe by the Bribery Commission on MP's failure to give a statement regarding an ongoing investigation instead of being summoned by the Commission.
The case was taken up today for hearing before a three member bench of judges chaired by Chief Justice K.Sripavan.The case was postponed until 14th of October 2016.
