Higher Education Minister Has Increased The Retirement Age Of Non Academic Staff

The Minister of Higher Education and Highways Lakshman Kiriella has decided to increase the retirement age of Non Academic Staff members to 60 years from 55 years according to the Higher Education Ministry.

This decision has been taken by the Minister as per the request made by the Non Academic Staff members the Minister has stated.

Accordingly the authorities have amended  the clauses of University Act to enable to implement the new retirement age of non Academic Staffers.

The retirement age of University Lecturers will remain as 65 years the Ministry has stated.
