The Chinese company which involved in the construction work of Colombo Port City Project at Galle Face has agreed not to seek compensation from the Sri Lankan government for the period the government had halted the work of the project to studying the environmental impact of it.
Cabinet Spokesman ,Minister of Media Gayantha Karunathilaka has stated during the Cabinet Briefing held yesterday (01)at government information department that the Chinese company CHEC Port City, Colombo has agreed not to seek compensation from the government in view of the goodwill established between Sri Lanka and China during the visits of Sri Lanka's President and Prime Minister to China.
At the end of the project Sri Lanka will have 45 hectares of Parks and 14 Artificial beaches in the Colombo Port City he has stressed.
The Minister has also stated that the Chinese government has agreed the government to use the port city land to build a financial city to fill the vacuum between Singapore and Dubai.
