The Ministry of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has invited the Oncologists[Cancer Specialists] attached to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital to discuss why the some oncologists are refusing to administer the controversial Russian Made Drug "Herticad" to the patients which supplied to the hospital.The drug which is widely used to treat breast cancer had been refused to use by some oncologists attached to the Cancer Hospital citing quality problems it has been reported.
oncologists here earlier administered. The drug made in Switzerland but as it is expensive the Independent drug regulatory authority had decided to purchase the Russian Made "Herticad",drug which is cheaper than the earlier drug made in Switzerland.
Although the price is low, the quality of the Russian Made Drug Is up to the standard the Health Ministry has stated.
