Health Minister To Submit A Cabinet Paper Seeking Rs.1200 Million To Purchase Cancer Drugs For All Cancer Patients In Sri Lanka

The Minister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne is due to submit a Cabinet Paper to the Cabinet soon regarding seeking Rs.1200 million to purchase the Cancer Drugs annually for all Sri Lankan Patients suffering from Cancers according to the Ministry Of Health.

As some essential Cancer Drugs are expensive as Rs.250,000 per vial, most of the Cancer Patients need Rs.50 to 60 lacks to purchase these drugs from private sector the Ministry has stated.Majority of these patients are not in a position to spend such prices to purchase Cancer Drugs the Ministry has revealed.

 According to the Health Ministry's police on providing Cancer Drugs free of charge for all Cancer Patients in Sri Lanka the Minister has decided to submit a Cabinet Paper as mentioned the Ministry sources have stated.
