The Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court has today (11) given permission to the criminal investigations department (CID) to investigate the bank accounts of 63 intelligence officials regarding the murder of former Sunday Leader Newspaper editor Lasantha Wikramathunge.
The permission was given when the case on Lasanths Wikramathunge's murder taken up for hearing today (11).
The CID is expecting to get statements from officials attached to 32 financial institutions to find out the bank account details it has been reported.
Meanwhile the Mount Lavinia Magistrate has ordered to further remand the Army Intelligence officer who had been detained and remanded over the killing of Former Sunday Leader editor .
He is due to be produced before the identification parade on the same day.
